Bearcats beat Dry; Kentville-Halifax postponed

The Truro Bearcats jumped out to an 11-0 lead and held on to beat visiting Dartmouth Moosehead Dry 11-8 tonight.

Today's interleague games (Fredericton at Dartmouth, 2 p.m.; Fredericton at Kentville, 7:30 p.m.) have been postponed because of rain. When make-up dates have been confirmed, they will be posted on this site.
At Truro, Craig Higgins capped a monster weekend for the host Bearcats in a 7-1 win over the Sydney Sooners. Higgins was 4-for-5 with a grand-slam at the plate, and tossed a complete-game five-hitter with six strikeouts. In the three-game series, Higgins was 11-for-14 with a pair of home runs and 11 RBI.

The Kentville Wildcats split a pair of interleague contests today in New Brunswick, beating the Chatham Ironmen 5-2 in an afternoon game before falling 4-2 to the Moncton Mets in the nightcap.
