Winning pitcher Perry Deveaux tossed a complete-game three-hitter and struck out 16 as the Halifax Pelham Canadians beat the visiting Sackville Chiefs 11-1 tonight in the regular-season finale.
The win pulls Halifax into a fourth-place tie with the Truro Bearcats at 15-19, meaning a one-game playoff will be necessary to determine the final playoff participant, with that game to be held Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the TAAC Grounds in Truro.
The winner will meet the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry in a best-of-five semifinal.

Today's game between the Halifax Pelham Canadians and Sackville Chiefs has been postponed because of rain.
