Prince George drops decision to Team Canada
The Prince George Axemen, with Dartmouth's Jason Bailey and Darren Doucette, and Brandon Hunter and Barrett Bellefontaine of Halifax, were beaten 15-2 by Team Canada tonight in the final round-robin game at the Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge in Prince George, B.C.
Bellefontaine was the losing pitcher, surrendering five runs on six hits in four innings, walking four and striking out four. Doucette went hitless in three at-bats in the DH spot, and Hunter came on as a substitute in centre field and struck out in his lone at-bat.
Prince George (2-3) faces Germany (2-3) in playoff action Friday at 7 p.m., Atlantic time. The tournament has live webcasts at www.worldbaseball.ca.
Game rained out
Tonight's game between the Truro Bearcats and Dartmouth Moosehead Dry at Beazley Field in Dartmouth has been postponed because of rain.
The game has been rescheduled to Thursday, Aug. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Tonight's game between the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and Kentville Wildcats at Memorial Park in Kentville has been postponed because of rain.

Axemen fall to 2-2 at WBC
The Prince George Axemen, with Jason Bailey and Darren Doucette from Dartmouth, and Halifax's Brandon Hunter and Barrett Bellefontaine, were defeated 10-2 by the United States on Wednesday at the Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge tournament in Prince George, B.C.
Doucette had an RBI-double, and Hunter went hitless in two at-bats.
Prince George completes round-robin play Thursday against Team Canada at 11 p.m., Atlantic.
