The Sydney Sooners picked up their second win of the season in the finale of a three-game weekend series with the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry today at Susan McEachern Memorial Field in Sydney.
Dartmouth took the first game of this afternoon's twinbill 15-3 in eight innings, but Sydney rallied for a 2-1 triumph in Game 2.

Dartmouth doubles Sydney, clinches playoff berth
The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry downed host Sydney Sooners 12-6 tonight to begin a three-game weekend series at Susan McEachern Memorial Field in Sydney. Jason Bailey was the winning pitcher. Randy Stewart had three hits for the Dry. The win means Dartmouth secures a berth in the postseason.

Tonight's game between the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and Halifax Pelham Canadians at Beazley Field in Dartmouth has been postponed because of rain.
The game has been rescheduled to Thursday, Aug. 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Tonight's exhibition game between the Nova Scotia Canada Games team and the Kentville Wildcats at Memorial Park in Kentville has been cancelled because of delays in completing the provincial midget and junior elimination tournaments, which members of the Canada Games team are competing in.
The rained-out game between the Kentville Wildcats and Dartmouth Moosehead Dry on July 22 at Memorial Park in Kentville has been rescheduled.
The make-up date is Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m., at Memorial Park.
