Tonight's game postponed

Game 3 of the best-of-seven league championship series between the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and Halifax Pelham Canadians at Beazley Field in Dartmouth has been postponed because of rain.

The game has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

A revised series schedule can be found on the "Calendar" and "Schedules" sections of the website. 

The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry prevailed 9-8 over the Halifax Pelham Canadians in 13 innings this afternoon at the Mainland Common in Halifax to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven league championship series.

The teams head back to Beazley Field in Dartmouth for Game 3 on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Dry draw first blood

Jason Bailey scattered eight hits and struck out nine, and Chris Head went four-for-five with three runs scored and three stolen bases to lead host Dartmouth Moosehead Dry to a 7-3 victory over the Halifax Pelham Canadians in the opening game of the best-of-seven league championship series.

The Canadians host Game 2 on Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Mainland Common.

NSSBL championship opens Friday

The best-of-seven league championship series between the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry and Halifax Pelham Canadians is scheduled to begin Friday at Beazley Field in Dartmouth at 7:30 p.m.

Game 2 is set for Saturday at the Mainland Common in Halifax at 2 p.m.

The winner will represent the province at the 2010 Canadian senior baseball championship in Windsor, Ont.
