Chili Peppers

We jumped out to a quick 3 run lead and then the other team tied the score at 3. Our next at bats we scored three more and led 6-3. Then the other team scored 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning and took the lead 6-7. Time was up but we had the last at bat. Kamille got a hit to start it off and then Hannah C. hit the ball past everyone and sprinted around for a homerun. Then we added one more run to finish the game. We had a ton of hits in this game. Brianna, Emma, and Morgan had 3 hits in 3 at bats. Hannah R., and Hannah C. had 2 hits in 2 at bats. Chloe and Carlee had 2 hits in 3 at bats. Then just about everyone else had one hit. Did not make but one play out in the field to record an out but did have several good stops on grounders. Good Game Girls.

We came out a little slow but started heating up when the game ended. We won 7 to 0 and had several girls that hit the ball good. Almost everyone got at least one hit. We had several girls get two hits in two at bats, they were: Brianna, Chloe, Carlee, and Sydney. The only out we got on defense was a grounder that Hannah C. stoped and taged second base to get the girl. Good start for our first game.

It is time to start fall ball. The league starts Aug. 28. Five weeks of double headers.

For playing in our first tournament of the year and not playing like we should in league play I did not expect us to play very many games. Take away the first inning of the first game and we gave up only 3 runs in each game. We lost the first game 0-11, then won 6-3, won 7-3, then lost to the team we played first 1-3 in a game where we were hitting the ball but it was always right at a defensive player. We made only two errors the whole tournament and no mental errors. We made several great plays, including throwing two girls out at home. As hitters we put the ball in play and had very few times when we watched a third strike go by us. I am proud of how all the girls played. Let's go play in another tournament!!
