Chili Peppers

We were still in the pool when this game was started. We scored a total of 2 runs in 4 innings while giving up 12 runs(11 in the first two innings). At one time the score was 2-19 before we decided to get out of the pool, dry off, and play ball. We made a come back and lost 13-19. We out hit the other team (29 hits to their 27) but we only had 4 extra base hits to their 11 and we had 4 strikeouts more than the other team. Defensive plays went to Jessica, Taryn, and Emy H. Offensive stars go to Lauren(homerun) and Jessica(homerun), Holly(4 hits),Katie(3 for 3), and Kaycee(3 for 3). We will get them next time. Coach Dale.

I think I just got more gray hair after this game. After jumping ahead when we scored 7 runs in the 1st inning we let the other team back into the game with some unlucky hitting and some uninspired defense. Going into the last inning we were down 10-16. So we just put 7 runs on the board and took a 1 run lead with the other team getting last at bats. First hitter for their team hit a chopper up the middle in which Emy H. fielded and threw to first and the ball was dug out by Jessica perfectly. Next hitter hit a one hopper that Emy H. backhanded and threw a strike to Jessica at first(2 outs). Next hitter hit a line drive that Emy H. caught for the 3rd out and the end of the game. Defensive plays went to Emy H., Jessica, and Lauren. Big bats went to Haley L.(grandslam, 5 RBI), Taryn(grandslam, 5 RBI), Emy H., Jessica, and Nikki. Good game girls, next time don't make the game so close. Coach Dale.

We brought out the big bats this game. We scored 7 runs the 1st inning and figured we would do the same in the 2nd and 3rd innings as well and we would have scored 7 in the 4th inning if a certain coach would not have tried to sneak a girl in home for the last out, so we settled for 6 runs. If we would have played defense like we showed in 2 of the 5 innings this game would not have been close. We won 27-24 but the other team batted 5 times to our 4 because we were home team. A few good defensive plays were by Haley L., Jessica, and Nikki. Batting stars went to everyone. Everyone got at least one hit and scored at least one run and 12 of the girls had at least one RBI. The girls that were perfect from the plate were Jessica, Holly, Haley L., Haley W., Taryn, Nikki, Emy H.(2 triples, homerun, and 7 RBI), and Marissa. The weird stat is that we had 1 double but 6 triples. Great hitting girls. Coach Dale.

Another game went down to the wire and we could not pull it out. We lost 16-21 by scoring only 2 runs in the first two innings, 14 runs in the middle innings, and then 0 runs in the last two innings(which included 5 out of the 6 outs being strikeouts). We had a 16-13 lead going to the 5th inning but could not get any more runs in. If we could just hit like we did in those middle innings no one would come close to us. The girls just pounded on the ball, even the outs were hard hit balls. Emy H., Haley L., Haley W., Taryn, and Ashlee all were perfect at the plate. Good defensive plays were made by Taryn(caught the ball in centerfield), Emy H., Nikki, and Haley W.(caught the ball in leftfield). We battled hard but just need to play every inning hard. We lost a tough one 13-16. Once again we started slow, being down 8-2. Then we played some ball and took the lead 13-11 after 4 innings. Then in the 5th inning we gave up 5 runs and came up to bat down 3 runs. But we could not put the bat on the ball and after Emy led off with a triple we struck out 3 times in a row. We struck out 9 times for the game which means they only had to get 6 outs in the field. We were led in hitting by Nikki, Haley L., and Emy. Katie made a good defensive play. We get to play this team the last game of the season and hopefully we will show them what kind of a hitting team we are. Coach Dale
