Chili Peppers

We sure looked good playing in our practice games. The first game was against a team we have played before and are compatible with. We won the game 6-1 with some great pitching and some good hits. Marissa pitched the first inning and had a little control problem but still only gave up one run while striking out two. Emy pitched the 2nd inning and struckout all three batters she faced. Taryn pitched the 3rd inning and struck out one and walked one when time expired. Lots of good hitting helped get us the lead. In the second game we played a team that was not at the same level as us. Once again we had great pitching and some hits when they got the ball over the plate. Jessica started the pitching and had 2 strikeouts and one walk in her inning. Nikki pitched the second inning and gave up one run while striking out 2 batters. Haley W. pitched the 3rd inning and struck out 2 but walked 4. Everyone contributed to the hitting and scoring of the runs. Everyone did a great job!!

We are going to play a game on Sunday the 13th at 1pm on field #1 at JCGAA and then we will play at 2:15pm on field #2. Please let me know if you can not make it to these games.

We will be practing on Sunday's at 5pm till 6:30pm at Bluejacket and on Tuesdays 5pm till 6:30pm at Bluejacket.

We were out pitched in both games, losing 2-8 in the first and then 7-10. They only had 2 hits to our 4 hits in the first game and then 1 hit to our 4 hits in the second. We just had trouble with walks and then made some costly errors. Toni played great on defense and got a hit and scored 3 runs in the two games and Nikki had 2 hits. Jessica pitched really well giving up 3 runs in two innings striking out 5 batters.

We lost the first game 11-15 which we should have won and then came back and tied 15-15 in the second game to a pretty good team. It was pretty cold out and everyone was bundled up. Once again we had trouble getting the ball over the plate walking 13 in the first game and then 17 in the second game. We will improve our pitching by next season and will be able to win most of these games.
