Chili Peppers

We our lucky to have added another coach to the Chili Peppers team. Her name is Lauren McKay and she will be working with the pitchers on the team. Lauren is one of the top pitchers in the area and her team finished 5th in the National Tournament last year. She has had a few injuries to recover from, so she decided to take a year off and has givin up her time to help show the girls how to become better pitchers.

What a great game! They had a girl that threw pretty hard but we showed what kind of hitting team we are and beat them 13 to 1. Another great pitching performance from Jessica and then Marissa. Neither girls gave up a hit and they struck out 10 of their batters. Alyssa got things going with a bases loaded single that gave us the early lead and then "Birthday Girl" Taryn put the finishing touch on with a bases clearing double. Other girls that got a hit were Kaycee, Marissa, and Nikki. Taryn drove in 3 runs while Nikki and Alyssa drove in 2 runs apiece. This game showed the girls that they can hit a girl that throws hard. Great game girls.

The girls played great! We won 14 to 3 behind some good pitching(no-hitter) and great hitting. The umpire had a small strike zone but we still had 9 strikeouts but did walk 8 batters. Marissa, Jessica, and Emy all pitched good and none of them gave up a hit. We scored 14 runs on 8 hits and was walked 13 times. When they did get the ball over we hit it pretty hard. In 3 innings they only got us out 3 times. Nikki had 2 hits. Jessica, Toni, Taryn, Haley L., Alyssa, and Emy each had 1 hit. Nikki and Jessica each drove in 3 runs. Holly, Kaycee, and Jessica each scored 2 times. Keep up the good work girls.
