Chili Peppers

We made this game a lot closer than it should have been. We won 12-7. Marissa came on strong by pitching all 4 innings and after giving up 5 runs in the 1st inning, she shut them down by only giving up 2 runs over the last 3 innings. Emy had 2 doubles and 4 RBI, others to get a hit were Alyssa, Marissa, and Taryn. After a shakey start we out scored them 10-2 over the last three innings. Way to bounce back from the 1st game girls.

Will go down as the worst game we ever played. Our pitching was terrible as we walked 15 of their batters. We made several bad mistakes in the field. But we did hit the ball hard as we did get 8 hits. As bad as we played we still went to the last inning with a chance to win the game but we walked several of their girls and then made a costly error. Let's hope we have got that out of our system.

Great pitching by Jessica won this game for us 7-6. We were up 7-1 going into the last inning when I switched some postions around and took Jessica out. Hits were hard to come by, we had 1 hit(Nikki) and they had two hits( by the same girl). It just came down to pitching and we were hitting the strike zone more.

In the tournament Best of KC we will be playing at these times: Saturday June 28 at 9:30am on field 9 vs Colorado Chaos; Saturday at 11:00am on field 9 vs Topeka Shockers. Then it looks like we will start the double elemination, playing at 5:00pm. When we win or if we happen to have bad luck and lose, we play at 6:30pm on Saturday. We got back into the win column with some good luck and a good pitching performance from Marrisa. Marissa pitched 4 innings and gave up 4 runs with 11 strikeouts. We won 5-4 on the weirdest play of the year. We had bases loaded when Emy popped up to the pitcher, the third base coach saw there was two outs on the scoreboard(but it was wrong and there was only one out)had told Nikki to run on the hit. When the pitcher caught the ball she tried to double up Ashlee running back to first. She over threw 1st and Ashlee tagged and ran to second, Marissa ran to third, and Nikki had scored and was walking towards the dugout. The other team was yelling to throw to third and we saw the umpire watching we knew he would call her out. We told Nikki to go tag third so she went running back to third and by then the pitcher saw what was happening so she threw to third but the ball hit Marissa in the helmet and went to left field. Nikki tagged up and then ran home for the 5th run. We still need to get our bats going and quit leaving so many runners left on base.
