Elizabeth Butterly (22:05), Jackie Creasey (22:06) and Erica Godwin (22:11) each reached the all-time fastest 5K list at MHS leading the girls to victories over Polytech (17-43) and Sussex Central (15-50) Wednesday at Redden State Forest. The boys ran well, but got edged by Polytech, 23-34, and Central, 26-30. For the girls, Tricia Gerken ran a career-best to close out the scorers, while Lindsay Kenton and Marissa McDonnell also ran season-best times for the varsity. Meredith Muskovich shattered her career-best as did Tahnisha Colson, Courtney Piper, Latrice Whidbee, Keskeda Pierre, and Becky and Erin Clendaniel. Julee Farley and Rosie Seagraves ran season-best times. For the boys, Andrew Meade led the way and Robert Calhoun, Henry Wilson, Matt Esposito, James Starnes and Andre Purnell followed with career-best times for the varsity. George Kershaw, Travis White, Brian Cisneros and Julius Davis each added career-best times as well. Click on the above headline for times and more pictures.

REINDEER STAMPEDE 2004

A huge congratulations goes out to the 203 runners/walkers who participated in the Milford High School Cross Country Boosters sixth annual Reindeer Stampede 5K and 1.5-mile walk held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at the Milford High School stadium. Andrew Marrocco (17:27) and Danielle Riley (22:11) won the overall trophies. Click on the reindeer or headline to get complete results. GIRLS LEAD WAY AT LAKE FOREST INVITATIONAL

Freshman Elizabeth Butterly ran a career-best 22:31 and sophomore Jackie Creasey followed three seconds later to lead the varsity girls to a sixth-place finish out of 24 teams at the Lake Forest Invitational Saturday. Erica Godwin, Marissa McDonnell, Tricia Gerken, Lindsay Kenton and Jessica FitzPatrick rounded out the team's top 7. Andrew Meade and Robert Calhoun, who ran a career-best 20:45, led the boys, and freshmen Kyle FitzPatrick and George Kershaw ran career-best times to just miss making the varsity. Freshmen Alex Ingram and Travis White also added their career-best performances. Erin and Becky Clendaniel, Jody George, Tahnisha Colson, Courtney Piper, Latrice Whidbee and Keskeda Pierre each added career-best times for the junior varsity. BUCS BLAZE RON POWELL TRAILS TO OPEN '04

Jackie Creasey (22:19) and Erica Godwin (22:22) ran the 16th and 17th fastest 5K times ever by a MHS female to lead the MHSCC teams to awesome opening performances at the Ron Powell Invitational Saturday. Elizabeth Butterly, Marissa McDonnell, Jessica FitzPatrick and Tricia Gerken helped the girls' top six runners take medals. Lindsay Kenton rounded out the varsity seven with a solid 25:12. Overall, the girls finished 4th out of 14 teams. Andrew Meade led the boys with a career-best 19:32 while Henry Wilson followed closely. Matt Esposito, Trevor Jefferson (who shattered a career-best by over four minutes with a 22:09), Andre Purnell, Logan Moreau and James Starnes rounded out the varsity. Mike Pastor, Robert Calhoun, Kyle FitzPatrick, Alan Lane and Dan Wheeler each ran well as all 12 guys earned their career-best times to open '04. All 15 girls broke their goal time, including Deshauna Purnell, Candice Young, Alicia Sanchez, Meredith Muskovich, Rosie Seagraves, Maire O'Neill, and Erin and Becky Clendaniel.
