BUCS FALL TO CR, DELMAR

Elizabeth Butterly and Andrew Meade led the way, but the Bucs failed to topple CR or Delmar Wednesday. The girls lost a tough one to CR, 23-32, while the boys slipped to Delmar, 26-30, and 15-50 to CR. Sophomores Kyle FitzPatrick, Logan Moreau, Garrett Jenkins, Erick Cisneros, Dan Wheeler and Kyle Berry each ran a career-best time to pace the boys, while Jody George and Becky Godwin also posted career-best times to round out the top five finishers for the girls. RAINY DAY AT WHITE CLAY DOESN'T SLOW BUCS

Alan Lane, Erick Cisneros and Kyle Berry each ran career-bests while Elizabeth Butterly earned a top 20 T-shirt Friday at the University of Delaware Invitational at White Clay Creek State Park. The boys entire varsity of Andrew Meade, Matt Esposito, Brandon Morris, Travis White, Matt Holloway, Kyle FitzPatrick and George Kershaw ran their best times at White Clay to lead the way. Meanwhile, Erica Godwin, Jody George, Meredith Muskovich and Tahnisha Colson bettered their White Clay times for the girls. Click on the above headline for complete results.
The girls finished a close fifth while the boys scored a 10th-place out of about 25 teams at the Tidewater Classic Wednesday in Salisbury. Elizabeth Butterly placed sixth overall with a stellar 20:59 to lead the girls, while Jody George, Emmery Williams and Becky Clendaniel scored career-best times. Jackie Creasey, Erica Godwin, Marissa McDonnell, Meredith Muskovich and Tahnisha Colson scored season-best times. George reached the Bloom Top 10 as well. For the boys, Andrew Meade led the way, but Matt Esposito, Brandon Morris, George Kershaw, Travis White and Kyle FitzPatrick each ran career-best times to tighten up the varsity pack. Matt Holloway rounded out the top 7 with a season-best run. Morris and freshmen Robert Fisher and Michael Schlegel each moved onto the Bloom Top 10 with career times, while Anthony Kramlich, Michael Stachecki and Morgan Sleva also added career days. GIRLS, BOYS REBOUND WITH SOLID DAY AT SALLIES

Elizabeth Butterly earned a top 20 medal and Erica Godwin, Jackie Creasey, Jody George and Marissa McDonnell closed out a tight pack as the girls varsity placed third in Division B at the Salesianum Invitational Saturday at Brandywine Creek State Park. In all, 21 Bucs, including 16 boys, ran their Brandywine best time. Congrats to Michael Schlegel and Emmery Williams who scored their first top 7 finishes of their careers. WIN STREAK ENDS WITH CLOSE LOSS TO SUSSEX TECH

Despite outstanding times from the entire squad, the girls and boys fell to Sussex Tech Thursday at Redden State Forest. Elizabeth Butterly ran an outstanding 19:36 on the 3.0-mile course, but the girls came up short in a close one, 25-30, while the boys lost 15-50. Jackie Creasey, Erica Godwin, Jody George, Marissa McDonnell, Meredith Muskovich and Tahnisha Colson rounded out the varsity finishers, while Emmery Williams, Becky Clendaniel and Keskeda Pierre each shaved chunks of time of their bests. For the boys, Andrew Meade and Matt Esposito both broke into the 18s, while Brandon Morris, Kyle FitzPatrick, Matt Holloway, Travis White and George Kershaw each raced to a varsity finish.
