Liz Butterly (4th), Kim Baldwin (8th), Abby Mitchell (10th), Shayla Wilson (14th) and Patrick Helmick (13th) paced the Bucs with medals in Kent County Championships held Tuesday at Ron Powell Memorial Park in Clayton. The girls finished runner-up to Dover, while the boys finished fourth -- just one point behind third-place Lake Forest. Helmick, a freshman, earned the boys first All-Kent County finish since 2003, while Travis White just missed the all-county squad by one place. George Kershaw, Erick Cisneros, Dom Cartwright (who ran a career-best 19:44), Brandon Morris and Matt Esposito rounded the varsity finishers. Jordan Lane ran a career-best 20:28 to place 7th on the Bloom Top 10 freshman list, while Garrett Jenkins added a career-best as well. Becky Godwin, Jackie Creasey and Giulia Santandrea closed out the girls varsity finishers, while Jessica Griffith scored a career-best time. Wilson's 23:12 moved her into the 7th spot of the Bloom Top 10 junior list. Morgan Sleva and Kyle Berry added season-best times.
