2012 National Invitational Scholastic Showcase  ~ Jamestown, New York

Culver Academy proved in the 2012 National Invitational Scholastic Showcase that defense is the winning recipe for Championship Hockey to capture the Governor’s Cup.

The Eagles defeated University School of Ohio 3-1 in the title game at Jamestown Savings Bank Arena. Logan Badelich broke a 1-1 tie late in the 2nd period and Luke Israel added an insurance goal early in the 3rd period for the difference. John Eansor’s 5th goal of the tournament gave Culver the lead in the opening period and US’s Clarke Jones tied the game at one apiece at 6:05 of the 1st period.

Culver avenged a defeat to Ontario Hockey Academy a year ago in the finals by defeating West Allegheny Pa, Gilmour Academy Ohio and Fenwick Illinois to reach the Semi-Finals.
