Andrew Dorogi scored on a rebound in overtime to lift University School to a 4-3 win over Ontario Hockey. Paulo DeSousa tied the game for OHA with 8:41 remaining in the 3rd period on a great individual effort.

The Pa Hockey Foundation will conduct the 7th Annual National Invitational Scholastic Showcase – November 30th December 1 & , 2012 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena in Jamestown, NY and the 17th Annual PA Hockey Scholastic Showcase is ready for December 28-31, 2012 at the BladeRunners – Harmarville complex in Pittsburgh, Pa.  The Tournament Schedules are available on the Pa Hockey Website at www.pahockey.net

 

      This National Invitational event is open to State Champions, Finalists, Semi-Finalists and Exempt Champions and each school will face three opponents in the preliminary round of competition. The 16 School Tournament will be played the state of the art Jamestown Savings Bank Arena in Jamestown, New York. Those who plan to attend in person can purchase Tournament Badges online on the Pa Hockey Store at www.pahockey.bz. The Governor’s Cup will be held for the 7th consecutive year at JSBIA and welcomes back the defending 2012 Governors Cup Champions Ontario Hockey Academy Broncos from Cornwall, Ontario.

    

    This year’s event will feature Schools with a combined 59 State Championships including 22-Time Indiana State Champions Culver Academy, 10-Time Maryland State Champions DeMatha Catholic, and 9-Time Ohio Champions St Edwards. Illinois will once again be led perennial powerhouses 2 time Blackhawk Cup Red Champions Glenbrook South and 2-Time Champions Fenwick. Western Pennsylvania will be represented by 5-Time AAA Champions Bethel Park 3-Time Pennsylvania AAA Champions Upper St Clair, 3-Time A Champions Serra Catholic, 2-Time Champions Cathedral Prep, and 2012 Pennsylvania Finalists West Allegheny. The NISS welcomes 2012 Indiana Finalists Columbus Icemen, Ohio Hockey Power Gilmour Academy, 2-time Ohio Champ University School, Hamilton, Ontario’s Hillfield Strathallan College and for the 7th Consecutive year 2011 Governor’s Cup Champions Year Holy Ghost Prep from Eastern Pennsylvania.  

 

     The winners of each bracket in preliminary round play will move on to the Semi-Final Medal Round on Sunday December 2nd to vie for the Governor’s Cup at 1:00 PM on Sunday. The Governor’s Cup final will be preceded by a Bantam Challenge between Cheektowaga Warriors from Buffalo, New York and the Steel City Renegades from Pittsburgh, Pa. at 11:00 AM vying for 99 Bantam Minor positioning on www.myhockeyrankings.com .
