Sunday, December 15, 2002 Cranston East High School Cranston, RI Hosted by RI Wrestling and CLCF Cranston’s League for Cranston’s Future. A great way to open up the Kids Wrestling Season is by participating in a takedown tournament with modified Tournament of Champions format. Each match is one period, 3 minutes long with clock stoppages for out of bounds only. Early stalemates with a return to neutral position allow wrestlers to work from the attack position. A takedown with continuous action to pin combination allowed. Medals awarded to 1st through 4th place in 6,7,8 age bracket and 1st through 3rd in all others. Age Groups: 6,7,8 9,10 11,12 13,14 15,16 Age is determined by your age on your birthday in 2003 Weight Classes: None - Wrestlers paired within 5lbs on day of tournament Weigh ins: 6,7,8 - 7:30AM – 8:30AM; all other ages til 9AM 1st Match 6,7,8 – 9:30AM; all others 10AM Fees: $10.00 per wrestler $3.00 adult spectator, $1.00 under 12 spectator Coaches with valid USA Wrestling Coaches Card – no charge USA Wrestling cards required and available for purchase at the door with proof of age and parental signature. Directions (We are just minutes south of Providence): From the South: 95N to Exit 16 (take right portion of exit). At traffic light make right (Elmwood Ave). At traffic light make right (Park Ave). Cranston East is after 2nd traffic light on right. From the North: 95S to Exit 16 (Rte 10 N; first portion of exit). Get off at 1st exit (Reservoir Ave). Make right at light (Reservoir Ave). Make left at light on Park Ave. (Burger King, Subway, Spikes Junkyard Dogs, Cumberland Farms/Gulf Station). Cranston East on left. Dan Gable Clinic - 7 Attend

Hey it was a really neat clinic. I was happy the following boys made it: Colin and Tyler Cunningham, Lucas Caron, Matt Cotes, Jack and Cameron Banks and Kevin Moss. There were about 1,000 people at the clinic and Mr. Gable did a great job teaching some things that everyone could use. Coach Mossimageimage

Ghoulish Tips for Safe Trick or Treating

1. Carry a flashlight 2. Walk, don't run. 3. Stay on Sidewalks 4. Obey traffic signals 5. Stay in familiar neighborhoods 6. Don't cut across yards or driveways. 7. Wear a watch you can read in the dark. 8. Make sure costumes don't drag on the ground. 9. Shoes should fit (even if they don't go with your costume) 10. Avoid wearing masks while walking from house to house. 11. Carry only flexible knives, swords or other props. 12. (If no sidewalk) walk on the left side of the road facing traffic 13. Wear clothing with reflective markings or tape. 14. Approach only houses that are lit. 15. Stay away from and don't pet animals you don't know. 16. Don't eat any candy till you get home and an adult checks it. (ask them to taste it for you)imageimage
