Minutemen Youth Wrestling

Anyone intersted in going should register with Coach Moss by Thursday of the week of this tournament.

Southington at the Shark Fest with the following results: Mighty Mites; Ayden Rodriguez 1^st, Josiah Torres 3^rd. Bantams; Mason and Cayden Hill 2^nd. Intermediate; Isaac Cortes and Rory Mayer 3^rd. Novices; Gavin Huddleston 3^rd, Sadie Boyer and Sebestyen Gabor 4^th. Middle School Division; Moses Marino 1^st and Tyler Jones 4^th place.

Coach Fred Orde said, “I was extremely impressed with three of our first year wrestlers today.  Mighty Mite Ayden Rodriguez really goes after his opponents and it shows with his first place finish, Moses Marino a first year Middle Schooler has great strength and a no quit attitude which produced a first place and Sebby Gabor is in a tough weight for a first year wrestler and never gave up today when it would have been the easy thing to do.”

The Berlin Minutemen hosted their annual youth tournament on Sunday, January 6^th at Berlin High School.  In the morning session the young Minutemen brought home the first place team trophy while scoring 30.5 points.

The results were: Mighty Mites; 1^st Mason Hill, 3^rd Colin Peck, 4^th Camden Santiago, Bantams; 1^st Cayden Hill and Niko Koops, 2^nd Zachary Skinner, 3^rd Matthew Koops and Marcus Kelly-Johnson and 4^th Luke Maguder, Intermediate Division; 2^nd Braden Shea, Mike Lukaszewski and Connor Gileau, 3^rd place Nicholas Martin, 4^th place John Newman, Isaac Cortes, Jenna Peck and 5^th place Rory Mayer.

In the afternoon Novice Division Daniel Veleas took first place, Serge Duquette 3^rd place and Vinny DeFrancesco 4^th place.  In the Middle School Division Josh Veleas took 1^st, Michael and Dylan Daniels took 2^nd, Tanner Parmelee 3^rd and Niko Fusco 5^th due to an injury.

The tournament drew wrestlers mainly from throughout Connecticut  but also included Massachusetts, New York and this year Neveda.
