T lady golden bears lost a close one Tuesday night at Garrett Gymnausium to Southwestern 38-35. The bears took the lead with 48 seconds left in the first and did not give it up until late in the fouth quarter it was a very well played game. the JV won thier second game over Southwestern 40-31.The Bears was led in scoring by: Caitlin Mills 16, Eryn Hopper 14, Chelsee Simerly 9, Ashley Martin 4, & Chelsea Weaver 2. Southwestern was led in scoring by: Brooke Hommel 11, Whitney Thomas 9, Katelyn Smith 6, Whitley Thomas & Tayler Britton 4 apiece, Kellie Garrison 7 Loren Smiley 2 apiece. The lady bears will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they host Hauser JV tip is at 11 AM. & Varsity tip is at 12:30 PM.
There may have been 10 players on the floor Tuesday night, but the meeting between the Southwestern and Shelbyville girls’ basketball teams belonged to two players — Shelbyville’s Eryn Hopper and Southwestern’s Brooke Hommel.

Class 3A No. 2-ranked Rushville was not in a very festive mood Wednesday night at William L. Garrett Gymnasium.

The lady bears got whipped by Rushville 68-16 At William L. Garrett Gymnausium Wednesday Night The bears was led in scoring by: Eryn Hopper 6, Ashley Bush 4, Catlin Mills, Dusty Vierling, & Chelsee Simerly 2 apiece. Rushville was led in scoring by: Shelbie Justice, & Alexa Bess 16 apiece, & Kaleigh Andrews 12. The lady bears is off until January 5, 2010 when they will host Southwestern JV tip is at 6 PM. & Varsity tip is at 7:30 PM. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year everybody.
