GREENFIELD--- When the Shelbyville girls' basketball team defeated Class 3A No.7 Pendleton Heights Friday it was the Golden Bears' biggest Hoosier Heritage Conference victory since it claimed iys last HHC crown in 2001-2002.

The Lady Bears Handed Pendleton Heights A 53-37 Loss Friday As They Went To (3-1 Overall And More Importantly They Stay Perfect 2-0 In The HHC. The Bears Don't Have Long To Get Ready For Greenfield-Central Coming Up On Tuesday Night. The Bears Led From Start To Finish They Had A Nine Point Lead In The First Half And A Eleven Point Lead After Three. The Bears Were Led In Scoring By LeAnn Douglas 13, Ashley Ayers 10, Julie Snuffer and Heather Carlson 8 Apiece, Dana Gardner 6, Melanie Clark 4, Krista Cole and Kelli Haehl 2 Apiece. Pendleton Heights Was Led In Scoring Susan Lester 17.
After Opening The Season With Wins Over Yorktown And Greensburg By A Combined 89 Points And Then Racing To A 15-5 Lead Over Columbus North Saturday, Perhaps A Let Down By The Shelbyville Girls' Basketball Team Was Inevitable.

The Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Their First Game Of The Young Season To Columbus North 58-56 Saturday Evening At Garrett Gymnauism. The Bears Led After One 16-10 The Bears Opened Up A 12 Point Lead Half Way Through The 2nd 23-11 Then The Roof Caved In Being Out Scored 18-4 The Found Themselves Trailing For The First Time This Year 29-27 At Halftime 41-32 After Three The Closest The Bears Got In The Second Half Was The Final 58-56 On Threepointer At The Buzzer.The Bears Was Led In Scoring By Ashley Ayers 20, Dana Gardner 17, LeAnn Douglas 10,Laura John 7, And Krista Cole 2. Leading Scorer For Columbus North Was Desiree Mumphrey 15.
