Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Basketball

Lady Bears defeated Mt. Vernon 43-38 Saturday afternoon Shelbyville led at all stops The Bears were led in scoring by LeAnn Douglas 20, Dana Gardner 13, Laura John & Julie Snuffer 4 each, and Sarah Wheeler 2. The Marauders were led in scoring by Jenni Tamarri 18. The JV team also won 30-23. The Lady Bears next game is January 19th at home when they host Indianapolis Cathedral.

For the second year in a row, the Shelbyville-Whiteland girls, basketball game went into overtime.

The Lady Golden Bears came from 15 down in the third quarter to tie the game at 56 all with 3 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Whiteland out scored the Bears 14-9 in the overtime session to defeat the Lady Bears 70-65. The star of the game was Krista Cole. Shelbyville was led in scoring by Dana Gardner 25, LeAnn Douglas 17, Julie Snuffer 9, Sarah Wheeler 5, Ashley Ayers 3, Krista Cole, Laura John, and Kelli Haehl 2 a piece. Whiteland was led in scoring by Jessica Huffman 28. The Lady Bears next game is Jan. 14th at Mount Vernon JV Tip Is 1 PM. Varsity Tip 2:30PM.

COLUMBUS--- Near the basket, on the perimeter, at the free thow line... there wasn't a spoton the Columbus East basketball court that the host Olymbians didn't own in their 65-51 win over Shelbyville Thursday.

Shelbyville boys, Roncalli, Rushville girls win in shootout. Eric Duncan scored a game high 16 points to lead Roncalli past Cambridge City 85-41 in boys basketball in the Rush/Shelby shootout at Shelbyville.
