Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Basketball

The Shelbyville girls' basketball team clinched a share of the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championship Saturday. And it couldn't have come in more appropriate fashion.

Congradulations to the Lady Golden Bears for clinching at least a share of Hoosier Heritage Conference Pendleton defeated Rushville & New Palestine defeated Greenfield-Central they are both 1 game back of Shelbyville. The bears can win the HHC outright with a win over Delta Saturday afternoon at Delta the start time for the JV game is 12 pm & the varsity tip off is at 1:30 pm. The Lady Bears take a record into Delta of(12-4 overall but more importantly 6-0 in the HHC). The bears was led in scoring by: Kelli Haehl 17, LeAnn Douglas 15, Ashley Ayers 8, Julie Snuffer 7, Dana Gardner 4, Chelsea Parks & Melanie Clark 2 apiece, and Sarah Wheeler 1. Mount Vernon was led in scoring by: Cassie Bills 11. So pack the stands Saturday afternoon to cheer on the Lady Bears on to victory & another Hoosier Heritage Conference championship.

BLOOMINGTON-- Judged strictly by the won-loss column, the Shelbyville girls' basketball team failed completely in its matchup against Bloomington North Tuesday.

All that Harry Larrabee was doing was getting his team ready for sectinal play Because Bloomington North is in our sectional. The Golden Bears lost 48-36 fall to 11-4. the bears was led in scoring by: Julie Snuffer 11, Ashley Ayers 9, Kelli Haehl 7, Dana Gardner 6, and LeAnn Douglas 3. Bloomington North wasled in scoring by: Alex Guyton 16. The Lady Bears off until Saturday January 13th when they will host Mt. Vernon JV tipoff is 1 pm & varsity tipoff is 2:30 pm. After a Hoosier Heritage Conference battle that lived up to expectations, it was only appropriate that the Girls' 2006 Shelby Shootout All-Tourney Team was dominated by Golden Bears and Lions.
