A Chelsa Weaver 3- pointer in the opening minute of overtime broke a nine minute, 28- secound scoring drought and propelled Shelbyville to its 10th- straight win over Yorktown Saturday in the season opener for both girls' basketball squads.

Congradulations go out to first year varsity coach Stacie Cepin. As the Lady Golden Bears defeat Yorktown 44-35 in overtime. The JV team also won 17-15 Saturday night at Garrett Gymnausium. The bears were lead in scoring by Chelesa Weaver 11, Melanie Clark 10, Katie Kolls & Kelli Haehl 7, Kaitlan Hudson 5, & Bailee Runnebohm 4. Yorktown was led in scoring by Jill Hopper 12. The lady bears next game is tuesday at Greensburg JV start 6 PM & Varsity start 7:30 PM Come out and back the Lady Golden Bears this season they are going to be fun to watch.

FLAT ROCK-- After each of the last two girls' basketball seasons, Shelby County coaches and media agreed that LeAnn Douglas is the area's best basketball player.
