LADY GOLDEN BEARS DEFEAT FRANKLIN COUNTY

The Lady Golden Bears Move Their Record To (2-3) After Defeating Franklin County Friday Night 61-49. The Bears Was Led In Scoring By: Kylee Edwards 33, Jaidyn Tackett 8, Abby Brenner 6, Ava Wilson, & Madison Bassett 5Apiece, & Madison Phares2. Franklin County Was Led In Scoring By: Kassidy Schell 10. The Bears Will Be Back In Action Saturday Afternoon When They Will Host Batesville JV Tip Is At 12:00 (Noon) & Varsity Tip Is At 1:30 P.M.

The Girls Basketball Team will host its annual PINK Night Game vs. Franklin County on Friday Night. The Team will have multiple items to raffle off and conduct a 50/50 raffle that will support Relay for Life of Shelby County. The action is set to start at 6 pm with the JV and the Varsity is to follow.

The Girls Basketball Team has a Schedule UPDATE

The Greenfield-Central game scheduled for Monday 12/14/20 has been moved to Tuesday 12/15/20.

JV will start at 6 pm with Varsity to follow.

Athlete Spotlight

Name: Kylee Edwards

Daughter of TJ and Mindy Edwards

Kylee Edwards participates in girls basketball and softball at Shelbyville High School. Her favorite TV Show is Law and Order. Kylee would say her favorite candy bar is snickers. She loves Christmas, because of all the decorations and spending time with family and friends. Kylee likes to travel in her free time. Kylee was ranked 7th in the nation for middle infielders and 23rd in the class of 2023 for softball as a middle schooler. She lost her freshman year of softball due to it being cancelled last spring. She is looking forward to representing Shelbyville on the softball diamond this spring. She loved beating New Castle last year in basketball and looks forward to many more victories this year.

The Girls’ had a quick turnabout traveling to Jennings County on Saturday Night. The varsity was defeated 61-73. Kylee Edwards led the way again with 20 points, while freshman Ava Wilson pitched in an early career high of 14 points. Madison Phares was solid again scoring 8 points and Jaidyn Tackett added 4 points. The Bears are now 1-3 on the season. The JV team was defeated as well and moved to 1-3 on the season. The Golden Bears are off until hosting Franklin County on 12/4/20 with basketball starting at 6 pm. The Girls’ will recognize senior night on Saturday 12/5/20 vs. Batesville with basketball starting at 12 pm. Senior celebrations will start at approximately 1 pm.
