In just her second Varsity season, Shelbyville Sophomore Kylee Edwards is providing a lot of hope and excitement for the Golden Bear faithful. Friday night, in a hard-fought 61-49 win against Franklin County, the Sophomore guard scored a career-high 35 points on a blistering 16-21 from the field. The youngster also grabbed five rebounds and collected five thefts in victory.

Saturday afternoon, the Golden Bears were back in action, this time hosting Batesville. Playing limited minutes in the second half of a 56-39 win, the 5-7 Edwards still managed 24 points, three rebounds, and an impressive eight steals. Through six games, the Sophomore guard is averaging 23.0 points per game, plus she has scored no less than 18 points in any one contest.

Kylee Edwards earned Brammer and Yeend Player of the Game following a career high of 35 points vs. Franklin County on Friday Night. Congrats Kylee!

The Lady Golden Bears Move Their Record To (3-3) After Defeating Batesvile On Senior Day 56-39 Saturday Afternoon. The Bears Was Led In Scoring By: Kylee Edwards 22, Jaidyn Tackett 12, Madison Phares 6, Ava Wilson 5, Cheyenne Eads 3, Abby Brenner, Madison Bassett, & Kilikina Schultz 2 Apiece. Batesville Was Led In Scoring By: Makayla Granger-Young 16. The JV Won Their Game 25-17. The Lady Bears Will Be In Action Next Tuesday When They Will Host New Palestine To Open Up HHC Play JV Tip Is At 6P.M. & Varsity Tip At 7:30 P.M.

The Girls Basketball Team stayed hot coming off a victory on Friday Night to defeat Batesville on Senior Night. Kylee Edwards produced another big night tossing in 24 points for the Golden Bears. Jaidyn Tackett came up big with 12 points and Madison Phares chipped in 6 points with Ava Wilson netting 5 points for the Lady Golden Bears. The varsity moves its record to 3-3 for the first time since 2015. This also marks the first time since 2015 that a Golden Bear Girls Team has won back to back games. The JV also defeated Batesville, moving its record to 2-4 on the year. The Golden Bears will host conference foe New Palestine on Tuesday with basketball starting at 6 pm.
