Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears Take 2nd in HHC

Shelbyville Lady Golden Bears improve their record with an impressive win on Thursday night in HHC play over Rushville 63-51 at Garrett Gymnasium. The Bears took the lead early and held it to the finish leading after one 22-13 one point under their season high quarter for the Bears this year 39-24 at halftime. The Bears were outscored 12-9 in the third to cut the lead to nine. The Bears outscored Rushville 15-12 in the final stanza. The Bears were led in scoring by Ashley Ayers 18. Rushville was led in scoring by Amanda Stull 30. The Lady Bears move to 11-5 overall 5-1 in HCC and 2nd place in the Hoosier Heritage Conference. The Bears will play there last conference and road game of the season at Delta Jan. 22nd JV tip is at 1PM. Varsity tip is at 2:30PM.

The Shelbyville Lady Bears improve its record to 10-5 overall 4-1 in HHC with a win over Mt. Vernon 46-45 Saturday afternoon. The Bears were led in scoring by Lauren Murphy 14, LeAnn Douglas 10, Dana Gardner, Ashley Ayers, and Julie Snuffer 6 apiece, Lauren Rees 3, and Melanie Clark 1. Mt. Vernon was led in scoring by Gabby Johnson 20. The Bears victory coupled with a Rushville loss means when Shelbyvile meets Rushville in the makeup game Thursday night they will be playing for 2nd place alone in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.
