The Lady Golden Bears Defeats Yorktown 43-33 The Lady Bears Was Led in Scoring By: Kylee Edwards 18, Abby Brenne3r 11, & Ava Wilson 10. Yorktown Was Led In Scoring By: Amari Wright 13.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL · JAN 18 Girls Basketball Splits with Mt. Vernon
The Girls Basketball team traveled to Mt. Vernon on Saturday afternoon for an HHC game. Mt. Vernon exploded in the first quarter leading 14-1. The Bears again had trouble scoring and stopping Mt. Vernon as they led 31-9 at halftime. The Bears were defeated to move to 8-11 (3-3 HHC). Ava Wilson led the way with 11 points. Edwards had 10, Phares had 3, and Brenner had 2 points for the Golden Bears. The JV team defeated Mt. Vernon 29-23 to move to 14-2 (6-0 HHC). Shelbyville will host Whiteland on Thursday for Senior Night starting at 6 pm

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL · JAN 9 Girls Basketball Sweeps Yorktown
The Girls Basketball team hosted HHC opponent Yorktown on Saturday afternoon. The Bears won 43-33 led by Kylee Edwards 18 points. Ava Wilson had 10, Madison Phares had 9, Madison Bassett had 4, and Ellie Simpson had 2 points to round out the scoring. The Bears are now 8-9 (HHC 3-2) on the year and will host Rushville on Tuesday. The JV team won as well to move to 12-2 on the year.
GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL · JAN 12 Girls Basketball splits with Rushville
The Girls Basketball team hosted Rushville on Tuesday night for a non-conference state road 44 battle. The varsity led after the first quarter 10-8 and at the half by a score of 25-17. A slow third quarter for Shelbyville shifted the games momentum to Rushville as they out scored the Bears 13-2 in the quarter to take a 30-27 lead heading into the fourth. As the pace of the game picked up in the fourth quarter the Bears could never get any closer dropping the contest to Rushville 51-44. Shelbyville was led in scoring by Kylee Edwards with 15 points. Also scoring for the Bears was Ellie Simpson with 9, Madison Phares with 7, Ava Wilson with 5, Abby Brenner with 5, and Madison Bassett with 3 points to round out the scoring. Shelbyville is now 8-10 (HHC 3-2) on the year. The JV team defeated Rushville to move to 13-2 on the year and both teams will travel to Mt. Vernon on Saturday for a 1:00 pm JV start.
