BEHIND GAY, SPALDING DOWNS PROSPECT HALL, 69-38, AND HEADS TO BEACH BALL AT 6-0; PALLOTTI SUFFERS FIRST LOSS IN PANTHER FINAL Senior sensation Rudy Gay had another huge night, scoring 17-points, grabbing nine-rebounds and blocking three shots, as #5 Archbishop Spalding improved to 6-0 with a MIAA A Conference basketball victory over visiting St. John's at Prospect Hall, last night. In the first ever meeting between the Cavaliers and Vikings, Gay displayed his many talents, as University of Connecticut head coach Jim Calhoun, who successfully recruited Gay last month, watched from the stands. Spalding, which is now 1-0 in the A Conference, also got 12-points from junior Justin Castleberry, while Kevin Galinet and Lawrence Dixon combined for 17 more. The Cavaliers now travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where they will meet Landmark Christian of Georgia, Friday night, in the opening game of the Beach Ball Classic, one of the nation's premier high school tournaments. Should the Cavaliers advance to the championship game (Tuesday, December 30 at 8: 00 pm) of this eight-team event, they will play before a national television audience on ESPN2. Junior Corey Dorsey led St. John's (5-5, 2-1) with 13- points
