MARTELLA'S PHARMACY TAKES OVER SPONSORSHIP

Posted by Chris Pfeil at Apr 2, 2008 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Martella's Pharmacy has taken over sponsorship of the Johnstown Grays Baseball Organization.  Martella's Pharmacy was established in 1964 by the late Joe Martella, Sr. and has provided hometown pharmacy services to their customers for five decades.  Martella's Pharmacy is located on Franklin Street across from Conemaugh Hospital.  Joe Martella, Jr. and Jackie Martella are co-owners of the family run business.

Martella's Pharmacy takes over one of the most successful franchises in AAABA League History.  The Grays went 231-140 in nine seasons, including three league championships and three trips to the National AAABA Final Four.  The Grays appeared in the AAABA League Championship Series in five of the last six seasons.  The Grays won 11 games in their three trips to the National AAABA Tournament, which is second to Coca-Cola (12) for most wins by a Johnstown franchise.

Former Johnstown Grays sponsor, Denny Altimore, will stay on as the Director of Baseball Operations.
