Liam McNicholas pitched 6 strong innings allowing only 4 hits and 2 walks to go along with 5 strikeouts. Sophomore David Nelson came in and got 3 ground ball outs in the 7th. At the plate Wes Rose, Evan O'Keeffe and Andrew Clay each had 2 hits. The big hit came in the 5th inning when Alex Lajeunesse's 2 rbi single plated Jake Nelson and Liam McNicholas. The Hawks collected 10 hits with Reale, McNicholas, and Paraskeva adding the other 3. Defensively Andrew Reale and Collin Paraskeva played well for the Hawks who improve to 1-0. |

4/17 | CONANT | WON 11-4 | HAWKS 11 CONANT 4 Senior Jake Nelson got his first start of the season at Conant and threw 6 strong innings allowing 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9, The Orioles scored 2 unearned runs in the 5th but the Hawks had already put the game away with a 6 run 1st inning, 1 in 2nd, 3 in the 3rd and the 11 run in the 5th. Nelson went 3-5 at the plate with 2 doubles and a triple to go with his 3 rbi's. Luke Greabe went 3-4 with 2 rbi's and both Alex Lajeunesse and Collin Paraskeva collected 2 hits a piece. Lajeunesse also did an outstanding job behind the plate catching Nelson. Other highlights from the game were Max Legier and Nolan Quinn's first varsity hits. Hawks pounded 4 Conant pitchers collecting 14 hits and improved to 2-0. |

4/22 | KEARSARGE | Won 3-2 | Hawks 3 Kearsarge 2 It was not a pretty game with the Hawks making quite a few base running mistakes but held on for the victory. Jake Nelson pitched 5 strong innings allowing 1 earned run while striking out 8 and walking 4. Liam McNicholas came in to pick up the save pitching the final 2 innings striking out 6 and allowing 1 unearned run. Collin Paraskeva knocked in 2 runs while Alex Lajeunesse claimed the only extra base hit for the Hawks. Evan O'Keeffe had two hits while Luke Greabe, Kyle LaPage and Max Legier picked up the other hits for the team. Hawks are now 3-0. |

5/5 | MASCENIC | Won 6-3 | Hopkinton Hawks outlasted the Mascenic Vikings on Monday after several lead changes, squeaking out a 6-3 win. The Hawks finally managed to grab the lead in the fifth inning capitalizing on 2 big Mascenic errors. Jake Nelson recorded eight strikeouts, allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over seven innings. He threw 75 pitches. The top of the first saw the Hawks take an early lead, 1-0. A double by Evan O'Keeffe, plating Jake Nelson started the inning off. Additional rbi came from a sacrifice fly by Wes Rose in the 6th inning. O'Keeffe, Alex Lajeunesse and Jake Nelson each collected 2 hits. The defensive play of the game was also made by Lajeunesse, after a Mascenic lead off walk in the 5th, Lajeunesse picked off the baserunner. Hawks improve to 5-1 and play at Bow Wednesday. |

Bright spots: Wes Rose 2 hits 4 rbi's, Luke Greabe, Luke Luneau and Andrew Reale also collected 2 hits each. Tough to lose like we did but as I said after the game, proud of the fight I saw in you tonight. I didn't see you quit and that tells me we are closer to getting better. 5/12 | BOW | Lost 6-5 | In a back and forth game the Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd on a bases loaded single by Andrew Clay and a Walk from Luke Luneau. Bow scored 2 in the top of the 5th to tie the game. Hawks responded with 3 in the bottom of the 5th when Clay collected his 2nd RBI of the game with a Sac fly, Luneau had a RBI double and Wes Rose knocked in a run with a single. Bow scored 3 times in the top of the 6th taking advantage of a 2 out walk with 3 straigh...t hits. Bow also scored the winning run in the top of the 7th with 2 outs and no one on base when they capitalized on a error, stolen base and an error. Hawks fought to the end with the tying run on 3rd and winning run on 2nd when the final out was recorded on a outfield flyball. Collin Paraskeva collected 3 hits on the day while Andrew Clay and Jake Nelson each had 2. Nelson pitched the first 5.67 innings of 4 hit ball striking out 7. Hawks break 3 game losing streak by pounding Hillsboro-Deering 11-1 in 5 innings. Andrew Reale went 2-2 with a double, single and bases loaded walk to collect 3 RBI's and Jake Nelson was 3-4 with 4 well hit balls and 2 RBI's. Collin Paraskeva and Kyle LaPage each had RBI doubles in the first inning and the Hawks cruised from there. Liam McNicholas was sharp on the bump, allowing only 3 hits in his 5 innings of work. He struck out 4. Hawks improve to 6-4. |

5/16 | BRADY | Won 6-4 | Trailing 4-3 going into the top of the 7th inning, the Hawks battled back when Luke Greabe was hit by a pitch, Jake Nelson had a single to left field and after a pop out both Greabe and Nelson advanced on a past ball. Collin Paraskeva came up with a 3-2 clutch 2 rbi single to put the Hawks up 5-4. Paraskeva stole 2 bases and after Max Legier walked, the team executed a double steal scoring Paraskeva with the insurance run. Jake Nelson pitched th...e first 5 innings allowing 4 hits and walking 3 while striking out 7. Dave Nelson pitched the 6th inning to pick up the win and Liam McNicholas came on in the 7th to collect the save. Collin Paraskeva and Jake Nelson each had 3 hits while Luke Luneau (2 rbi's) and Alex Lajeunesse each collected 2 hits. The Hawks play a Make up game with Franklin tomorrow. 5/19 | FRANKLIN | Won 14-0 | Hawks break out with an 11 run first inning as they cruised to a 14-0 win in 5 innings over Franklin. Jake Nelson (3B, 2B 3 RBI's) and Luke Greabe (2 singles and 2 RBI's) helped get the Hawks off to a big lead in the first inning. The team totaled 9 hits and 4 BB in the inning as well. Greabe finished the game with 3 hits and Luke Luneau also collected 2 hits. Collin Paraskeva and Alex Lejeunesse also each knocked in 2 runs. On the mound Freshman Ben McManus enjoyed all the offensive support as he threw a 2 hitter striking out 4 while walking 0 in his first Varsity appearance. Hawks improve to 8-4. |

5/21 | CAMPBELL | Lost 1-0 | In a game that took all of an hour and 15 minutes the Hawks came out on the wrong end of a 1-0 game. Senior Liam McNicholas did an outstanding job on the mound keeping the Cougars off balance allowing only 2 hits and 1 unearned run on 85 pitches. The Hawks just couldn't generate any offense off the Campbell ace collecting 2 hits one from both Jake Nelson and Alex Lajeunesse. On a side note: the outfield trio of Wes Rose, Kyle LaPage and Max Leiger each made outstanding catches to help keep the Hawks in the game. | HOME | 4:00PM |
5/25 | KEARSARGE | Won 5-1 | Jake Nelson and Andrew Reale teamed up to collect 4 of the Hawks 5 hits and helped the team improve to 9-5 on the season with a 5-1 win over Kearsarge. Reale came up with a clutch 2rbi single in the third inning to open a 1-0 lead to 3-0. Nelson pitched 6 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 7. He also led of the game with a single went to second on a sac bunt, stole 3rd and then stole home. Alex Lajeunesse collected the other Hawk hit with an RBI in the 7th. Liam McNicholas pitched a 1,2,3 7th inning. | ||

Justin Madore (7 K's) pitched 4 solid innings to pick up the win for the Hawks, and Dave Nelson (6 K's) pitched well in relief to pick up a three-inning save. Leading the offense for the Hawks were Max Legier (1-for-1, BB, SB, run), Luke Luneau (2 RBI), Kyle LaPage (1-for-2, SB, run), and Alex Lajeunesse (1-for-3, run). Riley McNicholas (3 SB) had a walk, and also reached base on a two-out error that allowed two runs to score in the second inning.

His battery-mate, Jacob Walling, threw out 3 runners from behind the plate and led the offense going 2-for-4 with a double, run, 4 RBI, and a SB. Luke Luneau (1-for-2, BB, HBP, 4 runs, RBI, SB), Dave Nelson (2-for-2, 2 BB, 2 runs, RBI, SB), and Nolan Quinn (1-for-2, 2 BB, 2 RBI, SB) all contributed towards the Hawks offense.

Jacob Walling, Luke Luneau, David Nelson, and Nolan Quinn all remained hot at the plate going a combined 7-for-10 with five walks, 10 runs, and six RBI. Max Legier (2-for-5, two runs) and Justin Madore (1-for-3, run, two RBI) also contributed towards the offense. Alex Lajeunesse got the win for the Hawks in relief, pitching 3.1 innings with six strikeouts. Catcher, Kolin LaPage, had a great play at the plate to tag out a Campbell runner who attempted to steal home.

Luke Luneau (2-for-4, run, rbi, stolen base), Dave Nelson (2-for-3, rbi, stolen base), and Nolan Quinn (rbi) helped contribute offensively for the Hawks. Keenan Trahnstrom had a perfectly executed squeeze in the fifth inning to earn a rbi. Trahnstrom also pitched a strong 3.2 innings in relief, striking out four, and allowing only one earned run. Kenny Andrew had good game defensively for the Hawks at first base.

Evan Schindewolf, Kolin LaPage (RBI), and Mitchell Mele all collected their first hits on the season. Luke Luneau and Jacob Walling continued to swing a hot bats, going a combined 5-for-7 with two runs scored. Defensively, Hawks shortstop Max Legier had two assists and four putouts, and Kyle LaPage made a great catch in left-center to prevent a leadoff double to the gap in the bottom of the sixth.

The Hawks had an 8-0 lead when they took the field for defense in the bottom of the first inning. Jacob Walling went 1-for-3 with a double, two runs, and four RBI for the Hawks. Dave Nelson (1-for-1, two walks, two runs, RBI) and Evan Schindewolf (1-for-1, two RBI) were productive from the clean-up spot in the order. Kenny Andrew got his first hit on the season, and both Josh Angell (hbp) and Sam Chase (walk) with bases loaded earned their first RBIs. The Tigers scored their two runs in the fourth inning.

Etienne Fontaine reached base three times (two walks, HBP) and scored two runs. Defensively, Max Legier had an outfield assist to throw a runner out at the plate from right field, and Andrew turned an unassisted double-play. |

Trahnstrom threw five efficient innings-only needing 52 pitches-while striking out three batters. Trahnstrom also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple, two runs, and a RBI. Max Legier (3-for-3, two runs, RBI), Dave Nelson (1-for-3, run, two RBI), Kenny Andrew (1-for-1, run, RBI), Justin Madore (1-for-1, double, RBI), and Mitchell Mele (1-for-2, walk, run, two RBI) all contributed offensively. The Hawks played excellent defense behind Trahnstrom to keep the perfect game in tack. First baseman Nolan Quinn had three unassisted plays and two putouts.

The Hopkinton JV baseball team improved to 8-2 with a win against Bishop Brady, 5-2. Bishop Brady plated the first run of the game in the bottom of the third to take a 1-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, Luke Luneau (3-for-3, double, two runs, two stolen bases) and Dave Nelson (1-for-4, double, run, RBI) hit back-to-back doubles to tie the game. Nelson would later reach third on two consecutive walks by Nolan Quinn (two walks) and Justin Madore (1-for-1, two walks, run, stolen base) and then score on a passed ball to give the Hawks a 2-1 lead. Nelson (seven strikeouts, four walks, five hits, one earned run) pitched a complete game for the Hawks to record the win. Mitchell Mele played a great second base behind Nelson, with two putouts and two assists. Bishop Brady starting pitcher, Riley Logue, recorded 11 strikeouts (five walks) over seven innings, and allowed only one earned run.

Alex Lajeunesse hit a double and scored a run, and Justin Madore had two walks and a RBI. Jacob Walling also went 2-for-3 for the Hawks, with two singles and a run.

Alex Lajeunesse (2-for-3, double, walk, two runs, RBI), Mitchell Mele (2-for-5, run, two RBI), Luke Luneau (2-for-5, walk, two runs, stolen base), Nolan Quinn (1-for-1, three walks, two runs), and Josh Angell (2-for-3, run, RBI) led the Hawks offense. In the bottom of the sixth inning, foreign exchange student, Etienne Fontaine (run), collected his first hit of the season for the Hawks on a ball that landed in shallow right-center field. Kolin LaPage (triple, RBI) and Jacob Walling (double) also had extra-base hits for the Hawks.

By the end of the third the Hawks cut the Cougars' lead to 3-2, and tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth. Then in the sixth the Hawks scored on a Kolin LaPage RBI single to plate Luke Luneau (walk, two stolen bases). Kolin LaPage later scored on a Justin Madore sac-fly to left to put the Hawks up 5-3. Dave Nelson (2-for-2, double, two RBI), Kyle LaPage (1-for-1, two runs, hbp), Sam Chase (1-for-1, walk, run) also helped lead the Hawks offense. Evan Schindewolf and Kenny Andrew also had base hits. Josh Angell had a heads up double play at shortstop and Max Legier made a great catch on a ball in left field. |
