PLAYER OF THE GAME vs EPPING

BONIFANT

Sam Bonifant worked two scoreless innings striking out 2 and picking off two runners, at the plate he was on base all four times with 2 walks and 2 hits plus 2 rbi's.

Honorable Mention:

Sam McManus had 2 hits and 2 rbi's

Matt McCormack pitched 3 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts and reached base 3 of his 4 at bats.

Colin O'Keeffe collected his first varsity hit.

Evan Levy played some solid defense recording 5 put outs and 3 assists at 1st and 3rd base.

PLAYER OF THE GAME vs MASCOMA: EVAN LEVY

Evan Levy

         went 4-5 at the plate and collected 4 RBI's as the Hawks beat Mascoma 12-7.

Honorable Mention

Matt McCormack went 2-3 at the plate with a homerun, double, walk and 2 RBI's

Sam McManus went 3-5 with a double and 1 RBI, picked up the win on the mound

Jay White went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and picked up a save in relief.

Kyle Hatch was on base 4 of his 5 at bats scoring 3 times

Freshman Steve Auger collected his first varsity hit and rbi.

2010 JUNIOR VARSITY BASEBALL

 4/12/10         8  Derryfield      2 The Hopkinton Hawks JV team opened its season with an 8-2 win against Derryfield.  Leading the way for the Hawks was Sophomore Matt McCormack who pitched a gem, going 5 innings with 5 strike outs and allowing just one hit.  Offensively McCormack was 1 for 2 with a triple, 2 walks, and 3 runs scored.  Liam McNicholas also played well scoring 2 runs.

 Liam McNicholas was the star going the distance on the mound with a complete game 2 hitter recording 11 strikeouts.  Jake Nelson paced the offense for the Hawks scoring 3 runs.  Colin O'keeffe also played well going 2 for 4 with two doubles.

The Hopkinton Hawks JV baseball team suffered its first loss of the season 11-4 to Campbell.  Collin Paraskevia led the offense going 3-4, reaching base 4 times.       2-1
 4/23/10      6  Fall Mountain    7  The Hopkinton Hawks JV baseball team fell to 2-2 on the season with a 7-6 loss to Fall Mountain.  Fall Mountain got out to an early lead but the Hawks came surging back in the top of the 7th scoring 3 runs to tie it 6-6 going into the bottom of the 7th.  Andrew Clay led the offense for the Hawks tallying 3 hits on the day and scoring a run.  Sophomore Troy Campbell scored two runs to help the effort.  Jake Nelson pitched well for the Hawks.     2-2
4/26/10      4   SANBORN    14 The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team dropped to 2-3 on the season with a 14-4 loss to Sanborn.  Freshman Collin Okeeffe lead the offense reaching base 4 times on 3 walks and a base hit and also scored 2 runs.  Andrew Clay recorded 1 hit driving in 2 runs and was also the pitcher for the Hawks.  The Hawks play Hillsoboro-Deering on Thursday at home at 1:30 pm.   2-3
 4/29/10     12  HILLSBORO     2 The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team improved to 3-3 on the season with a 12-2 win over Hillsboro-Deering.  Jake Nelson was the winning pitcher pitching all 5 innings.  Steve Auger reached base 4 times and scored 4 runs for the Hawks.  Collin Okeeffe went 2-2 on the day with 2 rbi, 2 walks and scored 2 runs.    3-3
 5/5      19   SOMERSWORTH    13 The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team improved to 4-3 on the season with an impressive 19-13 win over a tough Somersworth squad.  Collin Paraskevia picked up the win pitching the last three innings to solidify things for the Hawks.  Andrew Clay pitched 4 strong innings to start the game before being relieved by Paraskevia.  The entire team play exceptional on the offensive side of the ball.  The Hawks play again Thursday against Windham.

 5/10      14   CAMPBELL   9   The Hopkinton JV Baseball team improved to 5-4 on the season with a 14-9 victory over Campbell.  Jake Nelson earned the win on the mound pitching an impressive 6 2/3 innings.  Collin Paraskevia had 3 hits on the day.  Dalton Morris had 2 hits on the day including a solo home-run in the 3rd inning.  The Hawks play Kearsarge at home on Wednesday.

 5/12      3         KEARSARGE    15   The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team fell to 5-5 on the season with a 15-3 loss to Kearsarge.  Dalton Morris paced the offense for the Hawks going 3-3 while Collin Paraskevia went 2-3.  Andrew Clay pitched all 5 innings for Hopkinton.

 5/14     12  MASCENIC   2  The Hopkinton JV Baseball team improved to 6-5 on the season with a 12-2 win over Mascenic.  Collin Paraskevia went the distance on the mound pitching all 5 innings and surrendering only 2 hits.  Dalton Morris continued his hot hitting going 3-4 scoring 2 runs.  Sophomore Matt Gleason also chipped in 2 hits and 2 runs.   6-5
 5/21      11  CONCORD CHRISTIAN    5 The Hopkinton Hawks jumped to 7-5 on the season with an 11-5 victory over Concord Christian.  Leading the way for the hawks on the mound was Jake Nelson going 6 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs, striking out 6.  Offensively for the Hawks Collin Paraskevia had 3 hits and 2 runs.  Sophomore Matt Komisarek chipped in 2 hits and scored once.  Dalton Morris Continued his hot hitting going 2-5.  The Hawks play Hillsboro-Deering Saturday.  7-5
 5/23       13  HILLSBORO   12  The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team improved to 8-5 on the season with a hard fought 13-12 win over Hillsboro-Deering.  With the score tied in the bottom of the 7th, Andrew Clay made contact with 1 out scoring Dalton Morris for the win.  Clay had 2 hits on the day for the Hawks.  Liam McNicholas and Jake Nelson each added 3 hits for Hopkinton.  The Hawks play Sanborn on Monday  8-5

 SANBORN    2   The Hopkinton Hawks JV Baseball team won their 4th game in a row, improving to 9-5 on the season with a tough 4-2 win over Sanborn.  Liam McNicholas picked up the win for the Hawks throwing 5 solid innings after recovering from a broken wrist.  Sophomore Matt Komisarek went 1-2 and knocked in what ended up being the winning run.  The Hawks travel to Gilford on Wednesday   9-5
