What happens when you have the number 2 seed Winnisquam "Bears" (17-2) vs the number 3 seed Hopkinton "Hawks" (16-2).  Simple, you have a pretty good baseball game.  That is what happened as Winnisquam got only 4 hits all game they just happened to all come in the fourth inning as they scored the only 2 runs that they would need to win the game and advance to the Championship game.  The Hawks loaded the bases in the first and put 2 runners on in the 6th inning but couldn't get on the board.  So for the second year in  a row Winnisquam has ended the Hawks season.  But what a season it was.

LEBLANC & WHITE

Jay LeBlanc had another big day for the Hawks going 3-4 at the plate with a double and 5 RBI's, behind the dish he was perfect handling 3 pop ups and throwing out 1 baserunner.

Jay White pitched 6 strong innings of 6 hit ball walking 3 while striking out 1, at the plate he went 2-2 with 3 runs scored, a squeeze rbi bunt and a walk.

HONORABLE MENTION:

Evan Levy went 3-4 at the plate with an rbi.  

Nate Greabe went 2-3 with an rbi                                                                  

Jimmy Angell went 2-3 with an rbi

Kyle Hatch knocked in the winning run with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

BONIFANT & LEBLANC

Sam Bonifant pitched 6 strong innings throwing only 59 pitches giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits.  The sophomore struck out 5 walking 0 and picking off 2.  At the plate he was 2-3 with 2 runs scored.

Jay LeBlanc moved up into the 3 hole answered the call for help going 3-4 at the plate with an rbi.

After a couple of years where rain washed out the annual Alumni game 19 former players returned to Georges Park to take on the Varsity squad in an afternoon filled with fun and story telling.  Thanks to all of the Alumni for thier support.
