PLAYER OF THE GAME vs HILLSBORO: SAM BONIFANT
SAM BONIFANT pitched a no hitter vs Hillsboro this afternoon. The junior lefty needed only 80 pitches to strike out 9 Hillcats. Only 1 ball left the infield on the afternoon. Bonifant walked 2 and hit 1 while having great command of all 3 pitches. At the plate he went 1-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
HONORABLE MENTION
Freshman catcher Jake Nelson caught the no-hitter and collected 2 of the hawks 7 hits on the afternoon.

Sam Bonifant came up big both pitching as well as at the plate. The junior lefty pitched a complete game 6 hitter, striking out 6 while walking 0. At the plate he went 2-3 with a double and a walk plus 2 big RBI's.

PLAYER OF THE GAME VS DERRYFIELD: SAM MCMANUS
Sam McManus was on his game this afternoon at Merchant Auto Stadium home of the New Hampshire Fishercats. The junior pitcher went 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi's and a stolen base. On the mound he pitched 7 complete innings striking out 11 and walking only 2. The right hander allowed only 2 hits and no earn runs..
HAWKS STAY PERFECT AT FISHERCAT STADIUM
Sam McManus was on his game this afternoon at Merchant Auto Stadium home of the New Hampshire Fishercats. The junior pitcher went 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi's and a stolen base. On the mound he pitched 7 complete innings striking out 11 and walking only 2. The right hander allowed only 2 hits and no earn runs..
The Hawks trailed 2-0 early and cut the lead in half with a McManus rbi single in the third inning. Jimmy Angell led off the inning by getting hit by a pitch, Matt Gleason layed down a nice sacrifice bunt and Nate Greabe moved Angell over to 3rd with a ball hit to the right side. McManus then pulled a 1-1 pitch over the 1st basemans head to plate Angell.
In the 5th inning the Hawks scored the tieing run as well as the winning run when Nate Greabe got hit by a pitch and went to 2nd on a wild pitch. McManus once again had a hard rbi single up the middle and then stole 2nd base. After a wild pitch Sam Bonifant hit a ball to the right side allowing McManus to score the winning run.
The Hawks play Campbell Monday in Litchfield at 4pm.
