La Costa opened the North County Tournament with an 11-3 win.  Max McNabb held Valley Center to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings. The Jaguars shut the Mavs out and led until the 6th inning in a game that grew increasingly tense for the home club. Garrett Hughes opened the bottom of the frame getting hit by a pitch and was followed by game-tying RBI singles by Will Swanner and Kyle Durrschmidt. At this point the wheels came off for Valley Center as the Mavs finished with 11 runs in the inning. Highlights were 2 run doubles by Phil Evans and Hughes and a 3 run double by Ryan Fessel. Parker Johnson closed the game on the mound for the Mavs.

Never say "Die" to our RB came out in the first inning with hot bats, scored 3 runs. Derek Kearney did not let that get to him as he came back in the 2nd and shut them dowm. Casey Connelly relieved Derek and faced 9 batters, had 4 strikeouts and struck out the side in the top of the 6th. Chris Kenney came in to close and finished off RB. Overall we had 7 hits; Ryan Lesenski was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI's. Forrest Grawin, Matt Hall and Wyatt Oren also contributed with RBI's. Great job men!!!!
