Game 2 was a familiar scene as Jason Guendert led the offensive attack with 3 hits including a homerun.  Other notables were:  Robbie Schupp with 3 hits, and AJ. Chadwick, Marcos Vera and Andrew Hinkle with 2 hits each.  Other big blasts came from Nick Michels with a solo homer and Weston Corica witha 375 foot double.  The pitching was superb once again with Tanner Gage, Sam Dudeck and Drew Krassny frustrating the Fallbrook hitters all game...

The Mavericks were a little slow starting but the floodgates eventually opened as the boys put the Fallbrook team away with a couple of big innings late in the game.  The offense was led by Jason Guendert with 3 hits including a homerun, followed by Josh McMahon, Robby Schupp, Daulton Morgan and Tanner Gage with 2 hits each.  The pitching was strong once again as Skyler Redondo, Drew Krassny, and Jason Guendert held the opponent to one run!

Mavs overpower Warriors in Fallbrook, 8-2

Garrett Hughes was too much for the Fallbrook Warriors, pitching 6 strong innings. He struck out 9 while allowing just 5 hits. 2 of the hits were solo home runs, accounting for the 2 Warrior runs. Michael Swanner closed the 7th inning, striking out 3. The Mav offense struck in the 2nd inning with a hit batter, 3 walks and a 2 run single by Mitch Tybroski.  Phil Evans started off the 5th with a walk, Will Swanner followed with a single, Grant Jochem bounced a shot off the 3rd baseman’s glove to plate Evans and Matt Lindberg drove in Swanner with a grounder to 2nd.  La Costa scored 2 more in the 6th on 2 more errors by the Fallbrook 3rd baseman and an RBI single by Swanner. Lindberg added a solo homer in the 7th to complete the Mav scoring. Swanner finished the day going 3 for 4 to lead the offense.

The Jv Mav's opne up the game with a huge home run from Ryan Lesinski int the first at bat of the game. He then followed it up with a second home to center field run with a runner on base. Ryan went 3-3 with 3 RBI's and 2 stolen bases. Other notable plate appearances; Matt Hall went 2 -4 with 1 RBI. Evan Schreiber, Chase Horton, Nick Hanggie, Wyatt Oren and Chad Jensen all contributed with a hit each. Derek Kearney started the game looked very strong and took home the win. Freshman Jake Schulz came in to relieve Derek and struck out 6 in 3 innings. Chris Kenney came in to close the game with 2 strikeouts.

LCC JV’s SUFFER FIRST LOSS 5-0

After a grat start in league play, the JV Maverick baseball team lost to San Pasqual 5-0. The Mav's oly posted 2 hits and had a total of 5 errors. Freshman Evan Schreiber started the game and took the lost. Connor Lievers and Casey Connoly came in to relieve Evan.
