Jake Schulz and Trent Swart combine to shut out Cathedral Catholic 7-0.  The nonleague game was a rematch of the Lions Tournament Classic Division Championship match up. The two teams split the two games this but it is not a preview of the CIF Division II Playoffs as Cathedral Catholic is actually in Division III this year.

The Mavericks played five games in four days but finished the tournament with a 6-5 loss to Cathedral in the championship game of the Classic Division.  The Lions Tournament is considered one of the top tournaments in the country, with teams traveling from all over to play in San Diego.  The tournament opened at Torrey Pines on monday with the Mavs winning 6-4 in 10 innings.  Maxpreps.com covered the game check the link out.
