Led by Pitcher Trent Swart the 2011 Mavericks turned the first Perfect Game in School History. No Hits, No Walks and No Errors in the Field. 27 up and 27 down.

LA COSTA CANYON'S PHILLIP EVANS IS DRAFTED IN 15th ROUND BY THE NEW YORK METS
Phillip Evans, a four year starter at short stop for the Mavericks was drafted in the 15th Round by the New York Mets. Phillip signed with San Diego State University so if he does not come to terms with the Mets the local fans will be able to continue to watch him play as an Aztec.
In his four years at La Costa Canyon Phillip left his mark in the school record book, including the Most Career Runs Batted In - 89, the Most Career Hits - 156, and the Highest Single Season Batting Average .489.
Steele Canyon Wins 6-3 To Force A Rubber Match Game on Thursday at La Costa Canyon
Steele Canyon jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and then held off the Mavericks for a 6-3 win to force an Elimination Game Against the Mavericks on Thursday June 2nd at 3:30 pm at La Costa Canyon.
Trent Swart (8-2) allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6.
Zach Tieger and Danny Martin each doubled for the Mavericks.
Helix beat Vahalla 5-1 to advance directly to the Saturday Championship game.
Steele Canyon Earns Rematch With La Costa Canyon
Steele Canyon (16-13) blanks Bonita Vista 7-0 to earn the rematch with La Costa Canyon on Tues. May 31st at 3:30 pm at LCC.
In the second Saturday elimination game, Valhalla (15-16) beats Scripps Ranch by a score of 5-1 to advance to play Helix (23-9) in the other semi final match up.
