LCC Sweeps Fallbrook

Posted by Neil Miller at Apr 12, 2013 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

La Costa played Fallbrook in game 3 of their league series at LCC.  The Mavericks jumped to a quick 3 nothing lead in the bottom of the 1st when Casinelli led off with a single, and Balderas followed with another hit, and Davern then walked. Sean McElroy cleared the bases with a 3-RBI double to deep LC.

Fallbrook scored one run in the 2nd, but could not muster another run against the strong LCC pitching and solid Maverick defense.  LCC added 3 more runs in the 5th when Feldmeir led off with a hit and Casinelli was hit by a pitch.  Balderas walked and Davern hit in 2 big security runs and McElroy added another RBI-single to bring the score to 6-1.  LCC added one more run in the bottom of the 6th on a Schenk single and a Balderas fielders choice RBI.  The final score was LCC 7, Fallbrook 1.

Carter Johnson pitched a complete game gem and gave up no earned runs on just 2 hits.  He struck out 9 batters.

With this win, LCC completed the 3-game sweep of Fallbrook.  LCC is now tied with the league lead at 3-0 and will face Rancho Buena Vista in another 3 games series this coming week.
