Mavericks Win Slugfest in Fallbrook

The Mavericks rode on Scott Clement's coat tails as he they watched him go 4-5 (HR, three doubles, 4 RBI's, and 3 runs). The game featured 24 hits between both teams and four home runs. The Mavericks totaled 14 hits and two home runs. Behind the solid pitching of Logan, Goldbach(2-0) and Kenney the Mavericks played error free baseball in route to a 12-8 victory. Chris Fuller and Nick Diehl also had great days at the plate going 3-4 and 2-4 respectively. Nick Diehl's first home run of the year came off the first pitch from the Fallbrook reliever. The win puts the Mavericks in first place in the Avocado League with a 3-0 record. On Thursday the Mavericks play Carlsbad at home 3:30.

Mavericks Rained Out

The semi finals of the Lions Tournament was rained out yesterday. The Mavericks were scheduled to play Rancho Bernardo at 10:00. There will be no make-up for the game. The Mavericks finish the tournament going 3-0 and allowing one run in 21 innings. League play beings again Tuesday at Fallbrook 3:30.

The Mavericks were ranked #9 overall, and #7 in Div. I schools in the state of California by Cal-Hi Sports. Others mentioned in the San Diego area were: #4 RBV, #5 Mission Bay, #8 Rancho Bernardo, and #12 El Capitan. The Mavericks were also ranked # 43 in the nation by the Student Sports National Fab 50.
