Before the largest crowd in history the Mavericks pulled out a 2-1 victory over South Bay power Eastlake. The win moves the Mavericks into a semi-final contest against the winner of today's Eastlake/RBV elimination game. The Mavericks came out of the gates running yesterday but were unable to capitalize. Andrew Nacario lead off with a triple but was later gunned down at the plate. In the second inning the bats remained hot as Scott Clement doubled off the top of the wall, Nick Diehl doubled into left center, and Pete Bethea doubled to right center. The result was a 2-0 lead for the Mavericks. From then on the bats were held silent as the Titans used four pitchers. The highlight of the game was the pitching of Doug Konoske who hurled a four hit, five strikeout gem. Konoske was dominant in his complete game performance.
