Mavs Bats Come Alive to Beat Westview

The Mavericks banged out 10 hits in route to a 7-2 victory over Westview. The offense started in the first sending eight hitters to the plate highlighted by Andrew Libermans RBI double. In the inning the Mavs scored 5 runs on 5 hits. They then scored again in the third and one more time in the fifth. Kyle Anderson making his final start at home went the distance to record his fourth win. He allowed 6 hits and one earned run. The Mavericks move their record to 16-13 6-8 and play at Rancho Bernardo to complete the regular season.

Mavs Fall to Mt. Carmel

The Mt Carmel bats came alive scattering 15 hits and scoring 12 runs. The Mavericks were unable to keep up and lost 12-4.

Mavs Lose to Torrey

The Mavericks continued there streak of bad luck Thursday when they lost to Torrey Pines 2-1. Nick Signaigo led off the seventh hitting a 3-2 pitch out of the park to tie the game at 1-1. In the bottom of the seventh Russ Lowell struck out the leadoff hitter, struck out the second hitter who reached first on a pass ball, struck out the third hitter, and struck out the fourth hitter. The fourth stirkeout was also a ball in the dirt which kicked back in front of home plate. Lowell fielded the ball and threw it over Grant Allgires head allowing the winning run to score.

Mavs Lose In Nine to RB

Behind an excellent pitching performance by Russ Lowell the Mavericks were beat by Rancho Bernardo 2-1. Lowell went the distance allowing an earned run, striking out five, and walking two. The Mavericks were trailing 1-0 in the third when Mike Ramirez drove a fastball over the left field fence. The score remaind tied until the ninth when Keuhl knocked in John Drennon with an RBI single to left.

Maverick Pitchers Only Bright Spot in Loss

The Maverick pitching staff continued to be the only positive as they lost to Westview 1-0. Tyler Wells pitched 5 scoreless innings in a return from an injury. Jimmy Voaklander the hard luck loser threw two innings allowing one unearned run. The Maverick offense was non-existent as they were able to collect two hits on the day.
