Mavericks Bats Wake Up Against San Dieguito

The Mavericks banged out 10 hits in an 8-5 victory over the Mustangs. Offensively Cole Ducey (3-4), Chris Brookey (2-4), and Grant Allgire all highlighted the attack. Trailing 3-0 Chris brookey hit a 2 run Home Run. In the fifth Grant Allgire pounded a 2-2 pitch deep to left to give the Mavericks a 7-3 lead. Michael Cruz pitched well enough for the victory despite the difficult weather conditions. With the victory the Mavericks move to 5-3 on the year. They play again at Escondido on Thursday at 3:15.

Mavs Beat RBV in Eight

In another great comeback, the Mavericks were able to defeat the visiting Longhorns 4-3. With no outs in the eighth inning the Mavericks loaded the bases to allow for a Cole Ducey sac fly to center. Jimmy Pierce was 3-4 with a double for LCC. On the mound Tyler Wells through 7 strong innings and gave way to Tyler Korn. With the perfect eighth Tyler picked up his second win. With the victory the Mavericks move to 4-2 on the season.

Mavs Lose to El Camino

The bats continued to struggle for the Mavs as they lose to the El Camino Wildcats 3-0. The lone hit came from Rusty Leedy in the sixth inning. On the mound Chris Brookey pitched well enough to win striking out 9 and walking two. Brookey was a hard luck loser to move his record to 1-1 on the year. The Mavericks play Tuesday against San Dieguito

Mavs Lose Close One to Riverside Poly

Trailing 9-0 to one of the top teams in the country the Mavericks put forth a comeback effort. After multiple hits, walks, HBP's, and errors the Mavericks found themselves trailing 9-8 with runners on 2nd and third with one out. The Bears brought in their ace left hander and the next two Maverick hitters struck out to end the game. The Mavs finish the Falcon/Pirate Tourney 3-1 and will enter the North County Tournament on Thursday against Oceanside.
