Winter Meeting Update

Discussions regarding the upcoming season have begun.  Among those items being addressed are the makeup of the 2005 roster, 2005 schedule, and costs involved with operating the team this coming season.

It was decided that 2005 Player Fees will remain unchanged:

Fees will remain at $100, or $50 for those currently in college.

In addition, a one-time uniform assessment will be passed on to each player.  To help cover the costs of new uniforms in 2005, each player will be required to pay an additional $65.

Below is a rough idea of the new jersey design.  Actual jerseys will be Navy Blue, with white or silver lettering/numbers, and maroon piping/tackle twill.

New Management Team for 2005

Posted by Steve Elliott at Nov 5, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
By Steve Elliott

The West Allis NATIONALS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of a new management team for the 2005 season.  Veterans Alex Franson and Mike Wajerski will take the reigns with plans to guide the team back to the championship level.  Contract terms were not disclosed, but one anonymous insider mumbled something about payola when discussing the pairs' ascention to power.

Franson and Wajerski bring a wealth of local amateur baseball experience to the table.  Each is experienced in hazing rituals, party planning, and bench shenanigans.  In addition, both are students of the game.

2005 will mark the 30th season of league play for the Lewie's/NATIONALS  franchise.  Competition in the Frank Langsdorf League of SE Wisconsin will be fierce with the addition of the Wisconsin State League's Kenosha Kings joining the ranks.  Franson and Wajerski are undaunted.

"We plan to add a bat and a couple arms to the lineup," stated Franson.  "If Elliott can keep from meddling in our affairs, we should have a decent shot to return to the promised land.". Wajerski also seems to have issues with authority, stating, "All I know is that I'm pitching the first game that Alex is not there to stop me! And everyone better just settle in where I put them because I'm going the distance."
