After filtering through numerous applications and portfolios of past works, the Nationals Board of Directors has reached a decision on the team's 2007 Beat Writer.
Chris Tentoni brings little to no experience to the table and has never taken a keyboarding class. He couldn't spell "baseball if you spotted him b-a-s-e-b-a-l, but he is funny, clever, and witty.
Please join the B.O.D's in welcoming Chris Tentoni to the Beat Writer's role!

Fortunes turned quickly once the local 9 returned to their home turf at Zirkel Field in West Allis. The once-comatose offense performed like a Manic on greenies and caffiene and exploded for 16 runs in a Langsdorf League opening victory over the defending champion West Allis White Sox, 16-11.
Mike Kenseth powered the offense with a Grand Slam Home Run and a double, but had many others join in the cause. Tom Donovan also went deep in a two hit performance.
Long-in-tooth beat Cop, James Herkowski, showed that his bat speed was still there with three hits while Joe Riebe, Alex Franson, Andy Gerhartz, and Curt Pryal also posted crooked numbers in the hit column.
Next up for this Nats are the League's newest addition, the Burlington Barons, who are coming off a 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Angels in their debut. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 7:30pm.
The remaining Phil Gnacinski bobbleheads will be given to the first thirteen paid attendees.

With the offense scuffling, strong pitching was an absolute necessity. On Saturday afternoon, Jim Jungbauer and Jeff Donovan delivered. Facing the prospect of enduring the first winless trip ever, Jungbauer and Donovan produced dominant performances on the hill in the team's hard-fought 2-1 10 inning victory against the defending Northeastern League champion Appleton Legends.

The geriatric generation couldn't have asked for a better situation. 3 outs away from victory, they had their hard-throwing right hander on the mound ready to mow through the youngsters.
The youngsters thought otherwise.
A three run seventh inning rally gave the youngsters a 10-9 victory in 5th annual Old Timers Game. Austin James knocked in the winning run with a two out single to right field.
There were many performance worthy of mention, but none greater than Steve Hluchnik's record 5 hit performance. Bill Beres and Dave Glaser also produced multi-hit games for the old men.
Next week the real games begin.
