West Allis NATIONALS Baseball

The local nine completed a successful defense of their South Division regular season title with an impressive sweep of the Rajun Cajuns on Saturday nite. The team exploded for a season-high 33 hits in the doubleheader while improving its league record to 17-0. Mark Van Hart led the way in the first game, 10-2 victory by supplying 2 Home Runs. Van Hart, Brian Gibson, and, yes, Lance Longhenry contributed three hits each in the 12-6 nightcap victory.

The Nationals will meet the West Allis White Sox in the Minor South Championship Series on August 4th (and 5th, if necessary) A best-of-three series will be conducted between the two teams. Games one and two will occur on August 4th. Game times will be 6PM and 8:30PM. If a deciding third game is necessary, it will be played Sunday nite August 5th. First pitch will at 7PM. Two games against Jo-Cats Pub were postponed Sunday due to wet grounds. The games will be played on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 1 AT ZIRKEL FIELD. FIRST GAME BEGINS AT 6pm.

A three run first and a four run second set the tone as the Nationals went on to defeat the West Bend Benders 15-2. Chris Kaebisch, Jimmy Dettman, and Alex Franson combined to hold the Benders to 4 hits and zero earned runs. Please see our "Stats" page for full details.
