Veterans/Old Timers begin training for May 8 reunion
Conditioning and skill drills have begun for the defending champion Lewie's/Nationals Old Timers.
GM #2: Continues to rehab a torn patella tendon with a regimen of water resistance workouts. Diet of beam and beef enhancing recovery.
Neibs #3: Increasing napping. Will be well rested by May 8.
Robert #4: Relaxing in the "Lower Lounge." Shooting for 2 innings, one at-bat, and a warm spot on the bench.
Boiler #6: Knee injury playing basketball puts availability in doubt.
Beres: #8: Table tennis keeps his glove to hand transfer among the quickest ever.
Kabes: #9: Growing hair since he won't protect against UV rays as others do - with a hat. Still pumping serious iron.
Koutnik #10: New old timer. Not currently incarcerated, but no promises going forward.
JJ #11: Bowling on Friday nights at Classic Lanes in Greenfield. Whiskey and smokes are performance enhancers.
Stevie #12: Voice should be back after another successful season coaching the Central girls basketball team. Speaks highly of his "Boiler Reduction" training program.
Glaze: #14: Always on the move officiating all levels of baseball, softball, basketball, and football.
Van Hart: #15: Pulled something on his honeymoon. Still brittle.
Dax: #18: Will welcome the game as a respite from coaching.
Sura: #20: Softball elbow a concern, along with consequences of inhaling smoke and fumes on ladder calls with the WA Fire Dept. Swings a mad axe, I'm told.
Tocco: #23: Lean, mean, and happy to be away from his spouse. A darkhorse candidate for MVP.
Lance: #24: High carbohydrate diet and new Cleveland Irons ensure a top notch performance. Pale complexion rivals J squared.
Artie: #26: Be afraid....be very afraid.
Butorac: #27: Creatine nixed; hamstrings tight and sore.
Rep: #28: Mental imagery training. Reviewing video of epic 1987 game winning home run versus Chapter V Reds at Harden Field.
Weber: #29: Whereabouts unknown
Updates for other participants will be appreciated.
