News and Announcements

The Aragona Pembroke Little League Board of Directors has been diligently monitoring directives from Little League, International, as well as state and local agencies. As such, APLL intends to commence with our 2020 season on Saturday, August 22nd.

The delayed season will be 10 weeks in length, ending October 30th, and will essentially be a spring season played in the fall.

We realize that some families may not be comfortable with play starting during the late summer, or may have other commitments for the fall of 2020. For those players, the 2020 registration fee will be applied to our 2021 spring season. Other families may not be able to play with us at all because they are moving from the area or have experienced an extreme hardship.

On Saturday, July 25th, from noon to 3pm, we will host a session to accept new registrations for the 2020 season. We will also accept registration fee refund requests for currently rostered players at this session. More details on this session will be available as the date approaches.

We thank all our families for their patience and for keeping an open mind since we truly are in uncharted waters at this time. Our league is a non-profit organization and all registration fees go right back to our kids and the complex.

Continue to work with your kids, play catch and take part in batting practice. Enjoy time outside and remain active. We all look forward to getting the kids back on the fields playing the game they love. In the interim, the APLL Board of Directors wish you all health, safety and determination as we all move forward through is unchartered territory.

Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic risk, the next two General Membership meetings have been postponed.

The May meeting, originally scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2020, will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020.

The June meeting and annual elections, originally scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2020, will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020.

Our General Membership meetings are held at Witchduck Bingo Hall and start at 6:30pm.

As you are well aware, the situation surrounding the coronavirus is rapidly evolving. Given the latest developments and following the direction of Little League Baseball International, Aragona Pembroke Little League will continue to suspend all operations through May 11, 2020.
We recognize that this is the heart of the traditional Little League season, and we share in the great disappointment that many are feeling surrounding this additional pause in the 2020 season. However, it is our hope that by doing this, we will all play a small, but important part in flattening the curve in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
We apologize for the inconvenience this disruption may cause, but believe it’s in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our players and our community.

Due to Governor Northam’s Executive Order prohibiting gatherings of more than ten individuals, the APLL General Membership Meeting scheduled for April 6th has been canceled. All 2020 Voting members of record will receive credit towards the attendance requirement for our annual election. The Board of Directors is currently in the process of determining next steps for the APLL Spring Season. We anticipate that we will have more information to share with our families next week. We appreciate your patience as the coronavirus situation is continuing to develop and want you to know that the health and well-being of our players and their families is our top priority.

In light of ongoing developments, Aragona Pembroke Little League will be delaying the start of our 2020 Spring Season by four weeks due to the nation emergency created by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We are taking this action in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, volunteers and spectators.
All team meetings and practices are to be suspended until April 6, 2020. The Manager/Coach/Team Parent meeting originally scheduled for March 14, 2020 has been postponed until April 11, 2020.

The APLL Board of Directors will continue to evaluate ongoing events leading up to the start of the season. We ask that our families remain flexible as events warrant, with the hope of resuming normal operations as soon as possible. We encourage all members of the APLL family to take all reasonable precautions during this challenging time and hope that it will not be long to once again PLAY BALL!
