News and Announcements
As you are well aware, the situation surrounding the coronavirus is rapidly evolving. Given the latest developments and following the direction of Little League Baseball International, Aragona Pembroke Little League will continue to suspend all operations through May 11, 2020.
We recognize that this is the heart of the traditional Little League season, and we share in the great disappointment that many are feeling surrounding this additional pause in the 2020 season. However, it is our hope that by doing this, we will all play a small, but important part in flattening the curve in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
We apologize for the inconvenience this disruption may cause, but believe it’s in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our players and our community.
Due to Governor Northam’s Executive Order prohibiting gatherings of more than ten individuals, the APLL General Membership Meeting scheduled for April 6th has been canceled. All 2020 Voting members of record will receive credit towards the attendance requirement for our annual election. The Board of Directors is currently in the process of determining next steps for the APLL Spring Season. We anticipate that we will have more information to share with our families next week. We appreciate your patience as the coronavirus situation is continuing to develop and want you to know that the health and well-being of our players and their families is our top priority.
In light of ongoing developments, Aragona Pembroke Little League will be delaying the start of our 2020 Spring Season by four weeks due to the nation emergency created by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
We are taking this action in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, volunteers and spectators.
All team meetings and practices are to be suspended until April 6, 2020. The Manager/Coach/Team Parent meeting originally scheduled for March 14, 2020 has been postponed until April 11, 2020.
The APLL Board of Directors will continue to evaluate ongoing events leading up to the start of the season. We ask that our families remain flexible as events warrant, with the hope of resuming normal operations as soon as possible. We encourage all members of the APLL family to take all reasonable precautions during this challenging time and hope that it will not be long to once again PLAY BALL!
