Official Statement

Dear Naugatuck Pop Warner Family,
It is with disappointment that I notify you that the 2020 Pop Warner football and cheerleading season has been canceled, as recommended by our state department of health. I received a letter from Southern CT Pop Warner today. As you may know, tackle football and competitive cheerleading are defined as “high-risk” sports with regard to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
I want to thank our Board, coaches, parents and most importantly our student athletes for their dedication and hard work during our pre-season conditioning which began on August 3rd. Everyone was great following the safety protocols put in place.
Equipment return: Will be the following three nights August 26, 27, & 28th from 6pm -8pm at the storage shed located at Naugatuck High School. Please bring all gear assigned to your player.
Refunds will be issued at equipment hand in. Cheer is asked to come during this time for refund options.
Refund Options:
Option 1: Registration fee refunded less $25.
Example: regular tackle/cheer paid $100 then $75 refund.
Flag/TM cheer paid $50 then $25 refund.
The $25 difference is to offset the cost of insurance already paid by league.

Option 2: Full payment received credited to the 2021 season

We worked hard and made every effort to ensure a football and cheerleading season, but unfortunately that will not be. Thank you for your continued support of the Naugatuck Pop Warner.
