Thespians Will Meet Friday!
Thespian Troupe 6902 has a virtual Thespian meeting Friday, July 10 at 4PM with new Thespian Director, Mrs. Fadoul. Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Final Nominees
Top scoring finalists may be invited by the Dr. Phillips Center to rehearse and perform in a reimagined digital applause awards. Safety protocols and enhanced social distancing policies will be in place for any filming/rehearsals that may occur. More details to follow.

A new addition to next year's theatre season!
We are pleased to announce that we will produce the musical, 13, in lieu of the Broadway Musical Revue scheduled on April 21 and 22, 2021. This production will be produced and rehearsed during the Middle School Musical Theatre year-long class and will be directed by Ms. Cindy Lowa. Please reach out to Mr. King if you should have any questions about this production.

THEATRE ARTS
It is with great pride that the WPS Theatre Department announces the following results from the Nord Anglia Education Verbatim and Viral Monologue Competitions, designed by Nord Anglia Education & Juillard for the NAU Community. There were over 1,200 entries worldwide!
Verbatim Monologue Competition – Students were challenged to use Verbatim Theatre Techniques to create a monologue and perform from the perspective & voice of someone dealing with the challenges and experiences of the coronavirus pandemic. This competition was open to students ages 15 through 18.
1st Place Winner – Leah Meyer
Special Mention – Maria Gullesserian
Viral Monologue Competition – Students were challenged to create and perform an original monologue based on aspects of the coronavirus pandemic.
2nd Place Winner – Emma Lawrence (age 15-18)
Special Mention – Julia Kaufman (age 10-14)
Congratulations to all of our students that participated & challenged themselves to go above and beyond to create, perform, & videotape monologues for this competition. We are so proud of each and every one of you! You have put yourself, your talents, & our school on the map… Globally!!!

We are also pleased to announce that Isabella Bakker, Grade 3, received 2nd Place for the Virtual Young Musicians Vocal Showcase in the 7-9-year-old age group.
A special thank you goes out to Isabella, Olivia Richter (Grade 2), Sophia Bresciani (Grade 11), and Micaela Joseph (Grade 11) for submitting videos for adjudication!
