Thank you to everyone involved in Saturday’s Dance Concert, Ultimate WPS Mixtape! Our WPS Dance Students gave brilliant performances under the direction of Gilliane Hadley, Allison Barron, Rosemarie Redman, and Stephanie Crane. Wren 5 also made a special appearance under the direction of Emily Tousek.

Please join us to celebrate student artwork on Thursday, May 10, 6-8 PM, WPS Gymnasium. Along with the student artwork, a special ice sculpture has been created for the opening of the Cypress Center later this year. Food and beverages will be made available.

NAE – Juilliard Trio Composition Project – Workshop & Performance

Congratulations to our MS String Orchestra students under the direction of Mr. Tim Hainsworth, who welcomed a Juilliard Trio to WPS last week to perform a piece of music they composed in four movements called IRMA. The piece tells the story of the hurricane which swept through the Caribbean and through Florida. They were one of five music ensembles out of the whole of Nord Anglia chosen to work with Juilliard violist and composition specialist, Jessica Meyer. They enjoyed working through the extensive composition process with her through Skype workshop sessions over a four-month period, and it was simply thrilling to see and hear their creation brought to life by such high caliber musicians as the Juilliard Trio. Mr. Hainsworth is confident they will remember the moment their music came alive in such a magnificent manner for the rest of their lives.

You will not want to miss this year’s Spring Dance Concert, Ultimate WPS Mixtape, featuring all of our middle and high school dance students. This event will take place at Dr. Phillips High School, Saturday, May 5, 5:00 PM. This is a free event and all seats will be made available to the public (no preferred seating).
