CSSA BOARD MEETING
August 31, 2020

The monthly meeting of the CSSA was held 08-31-2020, at Sidelines Grille, and called to order by Norm Thiem at 6:35 PM.
Members present: Ray, Dewy, Andy, Dick, Bob W, Norm, Robbie, Mike, John and Leland
Absent: Randy, Donny
A. Mike Parson is now the Asst. Commissioner. Mike takes the place of Bob Hammond who resigned on 7-15-2020, due to moving out of state.
B. Dewy Hom is now the Gold League director, taking the place of Jack Dulaney who also resigned 7-15-2020.
C. Brad Tafoya has been appointed as the new treasurer taking the open position that was being handled by Norm.
We thank all of the above for their past service, and welcome the new members taking over these positions in the middle of their term.
D. Minutes for July were read and passed
E. Financial report: after expenses for supplies, rental, scorekeepers, umpires, etc, the balance is currently $3308.43. We are still waiting on approx. $5100 to enter our account when all the player fees are received. This money should be deposited within the next 7-10 days.
F. There are a few sponsors that have not paid for the 2020 season. Members of the BOD will contact these sponsors in order to increase our balance for this and next year.
G. Labor Day Golf Tournament will take place on Wednesday, 11-11-20. The entrance fee will be $65 per person, and it will begin at 11:00 AM. Tom Cameron is the tournament head, and will provide additional information as the day nears.
H. Awards Banquet scheduled for November has been officially cancelled, due to the COVID virus. Plans may be to reschedule for February or March. A final decision for the banquet will be addressed at a later date. However, the awards will be presented to the winners at the beginning of the spring season 2021.

I. Discussion was conducted concerning the ejections, Rule #11. The rule needs to be looked at and further discussed with concern to emotional vs. intentional response/reaction.
The board would also like to adopt an amendment, to the rule, that we should add a statement to the current rule that would read: All ejections will be reviewed by the executive committee, after the first game suspension, provided there is no conflict of interest. Also, the BOD may add additional penalties if needed.
We also discussed that Rule #11 needs to be incorporated into the by-laws.
The BOD will further address these issues at the next meeting.

J. Substitution Policy was the next topic of discussion, but due to time restraints, and the season half over, the policy will be further discussed at a later date.

H. Meeting was adjourned at 8:35 PM
